“Good place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

I stayed during Memorial Day weekend. Nice hotel with spacious and clean rooms. It is located in a good area and is very close to Washington DC by car. There is a parking fee of $18.00 per day. I had a pleasant stay. Would stay again.

Stayed here on business for several nights. Very nice, rooms are great and the palce is fairly new. The parking is tight but was able to park at the hotel each night. Housekeeping was not up to par. Missed emptying trashcans twice and providing towels. Otherwise a very good stay and Whole Foods is a few minutes away.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback regarding your stay. I empathize with the lack of space you encountered during your stay and I apologize for the inconvenience you and your family experienced . Our hotel has various sizes of suites available. In addition to our studio suites, we also offer larger one and two bedroom suites too. I would welcome the opportunity to accommodate you in one of those larger suites as I am confident that those larger sizes will be adequately accommodating for you and your family. Once again thank you, and I hope to earn the opportunity to accommodate you in one of our larger suite sizes the next time you visit..

This was my first time at a Residence Inn. There are a number of them in the Washington DC/Arlington/Alexandria area. I chose this one via Priceline. It is a newer property, and still in good shape. It is in a safe neighborhood. It is several blocks from the Eisenhower Metro stop, and about a mile from the King Street Metro stop. There is a Whole Foods several blocks away, and a movie theatre two blocks in the other direction. For the price, it was a good choice for visiting the DC area. The Metro is rather easy to use once you learn the system.

The breakfast has good options (eggs, oatmeal, waffles, yogurt, fruit, and more). At times, it was a lot of people for the area, meaning things were not always real clean during that time. However, overall it was a good breakfast to start the day.

The rooms were nice. Things were not luxurious, but certainly good.

They offer a shuttle, although I never saw it during my 4 night stay. Hotel staff were always very friendly.

We stayed here so we could participate in the Race for Hope on May 5th. The rate was fantastic for the area, the metro is about 5 blocks away, which we took into DC. Check the schedule if you need to be somewhere at a certain time as there are fewer trains on the weekends and station interruptions for repair work.

King street is only a few blocks away but it is a long walk all the way down to the water. It's really on the edge of Old Town. We love to walk so no problem, although the hotel does provide a free shuttle.

We parked in the parking garage across from the hotel. Much cheaper on the weekends then hotel parking.

We had a one bedroom suite with a sofa coach which worked great since our 5 year old was with us. Rooms are huge, clean, and have a full kitchen.

Breakfast was great. We picked up dinner at the Whole Foods that is right around the corner and brought it back to our room. After a long day of walking, this was a nice option.

We love Old Town Alexandria and will definitely choose this hotel again.

We spent one night at this hotel recently on a weekend trip down to catch at Nats game with the kids. The front desk service was good, and beyond that we did not really encounter any other hotel staff. The room, a one king suite (207), was clean and large enough for our family, including three kids. It had the standard Residence Inn room amenities: TVs in each room, good sized kitchen, large bathroom and high ceiling. You look right at the Masonic Temple out the window in the main living room, which was a treat for the kids! The free breakfast was the standard Residence Inn spread, which the kids really enjoy. The The hotel is conveniently located off 495 and close to the King Street Metro. There is a comp shuttle that will take you to the Metro or to anywhere else in Old Town. Barry the drive was friendly and knowledgeable. Parking is $18 in the hotel garage, but I learned - after the fact - that on-street parking is free on the weekends. Check into this when you arrive and you may save a few bucks! The next time we head down to D.C. we will absolutely consider this hotel in addition to the Residence Inn Arlington Courthouse, where we have typically stayed in the past, and which I reviewed in April 2011.

Room Tip: Get a room on the 2nd floor. It's the first floor above the lobby and is perfect for absorbing...

Stayed at Residence Inn from 30th April 2013 to 3rd May 2013. The Residence Inn provides complete comfort of a residence living. The apartment comprised of a living room and a bedroom. The room came completely equipped with all amenities - TV, Fridge, Microwave, Cutlery to cook and serve, etc. The hotel provides complimentary breakfast and also a complimentary dinner which can be taken before 7 p.m. in the evening. Though not a elaborate breakfast or dinner spread, i would say it is very decent including choice of vegetarian and non vegetarian choices. The rooms are made up everyday. The place is very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. A must must stay for anyone visiting Alexandria.

Check in was quick and seamless. Asked where closest metro was and was told, I just follow that bridge. Ok we'll then.. Room was nice but used to bed being separated in a residence inn, this one was in room with kitchen and living room. Frigerator made noises all night. Bed was comfortable. Hotel has nice buffet breakfast which was well stocked both days. They also had an evening gathering that really was enough food for dinner. You could even get wine. It was an ok stay.
