I was in town for a training class and stayed at this hotel. I found it rather cold and inpersonal with the staff more or less just doing their job and not making much of a extra step to make you comfortable. In one case more interested in talking on the phone than helping me. It is within walking distance of Duke Street and there are a few restaurants around a little closer. The breakfast is pretty standard with the powered eggs (or so they seemed) and usual breakfast fare you find in most hotels. Interesting was the evening "manager specials" the night I was there was nacho night and was quite good. Besides the $200 per night hotel charge there is the $18 parking which always annoys me. So pretty standard, nothing special.

All of the staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel is very well maintained. The lobby area is very welcoming and relaxing. The staff go out of their way to take care of you and any needs you may have. The complimentary breakfast offers many choices and the evening social is always a pleasant way to end the day. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area without hesitation.

As always the Marriott staff made this stay well worth it. Everyone there was always pleasant and eager to help in anyway they could. From the front desk staff, to the housekeeping or maintenance and the shuttle driver. Kudos to all. The room was clean and well stocked and everything was in working order which always helps! This hotel is a short walk to a Metro stop for a trip into DC and the hotel provides a free shuttle to the Old Town/King St. area for drinks and dining. Breakfast is included and has a decent variety and Monday-Wednesday they have a managers reception type of deal with a light meal and drinks also. My only knock would be the parking. Like everywhere else in this area it is limited and expensive. Don't bring your full size SUV and expect to put it in the parking deck! This area is a good place to stay if you don't want to stay within DC since you can just hop the Metro and be there in 20-30 minutes anyway.
