Not good for the price we paid for it. You can find other best hotel around it.. where my friends stayed.

Hotel is a good price for DC but you certainly get what you pay for. Rooms require some serious refurbishment and the adviertised kitchenette was well below the standard we expected.

The cleanliness wasn't great. Fortunatly me and my girlfriend were only using it as a base to see DC and so did very little other than use it for sleeping.

Staff do not seem intrested in you as guest and at times the level of english is questionable.

It was the cheapest in the area. It was pretty old, but it was clean. They had washers and dryers in the basement, the washers were OK but the dryers take forever to dry your clothes. I had a somewhat hard time trying to understand the clerk and maids, due to a dialect barrier. Wireless Internet was not working properly in our room, but it was fine in the halls and in the lobby. Overall, I would recommend it for a few nights. At $625 a week, it seems high, but it is the cheapest we found in the area. It also sets off the main road so it's kind of nice to be away from the main roads. However, the 10-lane highway is right next to it. There is no pool though.

  • Liked — Away from the mainstream areas.
  • Disliked — Language barrier, kind of a low-end area of Alexandria.

My daughter used her credit card for payment, a couple of days later there was credit card fraud on her card. Internet payments were made illegally with her card. Americansingles.com, international websites, almost $200 in charges...we traced it back to this hotel, this is the last time we used the card, our bank is investigating. Beware use cash if possible!!! Hotel not up to our standards, it was cheap $69 so we stayed one night. We were going to stay 3 nights but the carpet was old, bedpost fell down, stains on kitchen chair, bathroom was clean, bedding clean. The first room was suppose to be non-smoking but we smelled smoke so they changed our room, it was better. I'll pass on this hotel to pay a few more dollars.

  • Liked — location, clean bathroom
  • Disliked — old carpet, furnishings

There was no complaint filed regarding the fraudulent credit card charges/payments so we are not aware of any problem our customer may have had.

We do not release any information on a customer. We take our customers identity and other important information very seriously.

US Airways sent me here when I missed my connecting flight at DCA Ronald Reagan National airport. It was about a 9 mile cab ride from the airport ($20, according to the meter). We had to drive past several closer "normal" hotels, then exit the highway and drive down a very poorly lit, poorly marked street. I was hungry, but was afraid to venture back out on my own at night.

The lobby consisted of 2 chairs shoved into a corner of small room, and the decor can best be described as painted-over cinder blocks. The rate listed on the cheesy message board behind the front desk said $149/night, but I think USAir negotiated $99. I don't think it was worth more than $19.

Key in hand (not a key card, like most hotels have been using for 20 years), I got on the depressing elevator. I walked down the mint green hallway and entered my room. Immediately inside the entrance is the bathroom. It was so small, that I had difficulty turning around. I could practically reach the hotel room door from the shower.

The rest of the room was fairly large and poorly furnished. The noise from the highway was deafening, even on the 5th floor, but I cranked up the air conditioner and finally fell asleep.

The hotel is not as expected, the location was under an hr's drive into the centre of Washington on the 395 thanks to the carpool lane so wasn't too bad and parking in the centre was cheaper than the cost of hotel parking in the centre. The hotel is about a 15 min drive to the Pontomac shopping mall where there are a lot of the big stores as outlets so cheaper than your normal mall.

The hotel itself is more like a motel, it has one main entrance but the corridors to the rooms are like a prison, they are long, narrow short ceiling hallways newly decorated in a very dated design. The rooms are big enough with mini-fridge, microwave and coffeemaker - but bring your own utensils (silverware) and coffee supplies - there are none to be found. Also missing is any form of hotel information or local area info. The rooms are clean but have a horrible smell of damp - not the normal nice smell of hotels.

The biggest disappointment was the Continental breakfast, it is simply a jug of O.J., a pot of coffee, a few bagels and a toaster - no where to sit either. Compared to other basic hotels I have stayed in this past month this is worst described so far.

Overall I would not stay here again, this was purely a last resort after many city centre hotels being fully booked for our first night.

I believe this comment is for the Inns of Virginia in Woodbridge as the Alexandria location is not near the Potomac shopping mall, its near Landmark Mall.

Additionally, the rooms in Alexandria have fully equipped kitchens with stove, microwave, coffee pot, full size refrigerator, plates, pots, pans and silverware. Also, we do not offer a continential breakfast.

This is an average, no-frills facility better suited for the longer-term traveler who doesn't require the comforts and amenities of a modern, service-oriented hotel. The rooms are large, spacious and generally clean, but the facilities are fairly spartan. There is a small kitchen with fairly modern appliances and a refrigerator. Cable TV and wireless Internet comes with the room and is a nice bonus. The inn's location is not within walking distance to a Metro stop, but a bus can be taken to the nearest station (Van Dorn St. Station). The ideal way to travel is still by car, if even just to drive to a Metro Station. My (individual) complaints are the A/C unit didn't work while here, and the coin-op washer-dryer units (in the basement) didn't work that well either. There is only one standard key issued per room. Service is fair at best and only somewhat responsive. The inn is also located near I-395 Fwy, which can get a bit noisy for those who desire silence. The windows are thin, and the road noise can be heard humming from since the rooms all face outward toward the freeway. On the whole, this facility is acceptable given the price and location. If you only need a place to rest your head, prepare your own meals, and/or use it as a base for sight-seeing in and around the DC-area, then you'll likely be content here. But if you're needing comfort, convenience, and service, then do look elsewhere but be prepared to pay 50-150% more per night.
