“Average Hotel, good location, decent price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

My husband and I spent the last two nights at this hotel and it has a very good location close to Old Town Alexandria. Although a bit long to walk, it is a very short and simple drive over to the historic area where parking was never a problem and restaurants and shops were wonderful. On our way to Old Town in the mornings, we stopped at a nearby Whole Foods (free parking) for a wonderful breakfast. Hotel furnishings were more modern than traditional .Our room looked right onto the interstate cloverleaf and yes, we heard the truck noise, but just turned the fan on and that worked to drown it out. Carpet was not well padded and noise from above was sometimes obvious but not a problem. The mattress was quite firm. There was a noisy mini fridge that we turned off at night. Otherwise, the room was fine and very clean. The bathroom was spacious, but I did not like the way the towels smelled. I would possibly stay there again due to good location and price.

We did a weekend trip to Washington DC but did not want to stay in DC, let's just say us and trying to navigate in that city do not work well. Anyway we decided we would stay outside DC, close enough to a Metro station. This hotel fit the bill perfectly, plus they offer shuttle service to and from the Metro station. The hotel was clean, all employees we dealt with or encountered were very nice. The parking lot was very tight, the spaces are narrow as is the parking lot, luckily we used my sedan and not our truck, that would have been an issue. Our reservation was the biggest issue, we had booked a king room, our reservation stated it, but when we got in our room we had been assigned two double beds. After sightseeing in DC all day we were beat and did not go down to the desk and ask to have our reservation honored. I would have hoped if we did they would have done their best to honor this. We would consider staying here again.

I only stayed for one night but the staff was very accommodating to my need for a very late checkout. The room was on the 5th floor and though it faced the interstate it was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable without too much fluffy bedding. It was nice to have a fridge and would have been even nicer to have a microwave. There is limited selection of food items at the small market and limited selection at the Bistro on site restaurant, but for one night and morning, it would do. It was nice to have free covered parking. The ambiance and set up of the room was great although the choice of carpeting could have been better matched to the decor. Nice big bathroom vanity. I was pleased with my stay. No real complaints

I have always preferred Embassy Suites or Homewood Suites when I travel with my family. This hotel was a perfect alternative for lots of reasons. Great room, comfortable and well appointed with an adjoining room for the kids. Bobby the GM was always present, friendly and very helpful as was his staff. Quick shuttle ran all day to the Eisenhower Metro which can get you quickly to anywhere around DC or Alexandria. Free parking made this property stand out relative to others in the area. Bistro offered a convenient tasty breakfast at reasonable price. When you figure location, price and convenience to metro this property is a huge value with friendly staff and great rooms.

Room Tip: Select rooms facing Alexandria, ask for a king with a balcony on one of the upper floors

Nice place. Modern, clean, affordable and close to everything. Free parking and a walk-able distance from the Metro station. The staff was nice and, for the most part, attentive. Our party had three rooms and one of them had to ask several times for a crib/ pack n play to be brought up and then had to ask, and wait for, a sheet. We asked for one too and received a broken one, but they were quick to replace it. The food in their restaurant downstairs was really good. We had breakfast both days - we ordered the same thing the 2nd morning b/c it was so great the first day (amazing french toast!). Be prepared to pay though - kinda pricey for a breakfast plate. But the portion (and quality) made up for it. Also, they serve Starbucks coffee! This area where you can eat is really comfy. We had a bunch of kids with us and they were able to run and play and not disturb anyone or break anything. There are lots of TV's around and work spaces with computers.

The rooms were nice. Free internet. Pillows were super comfy. Water pressure nothing to write home about but everything worked just fine. The doors seem to be paper-thin as you can hear every thing going on in the hallways. If there are lots of rowdy teenagers across the hall that like to hang out instead of in their rooms, it's annoying. But the front desk remedied that quickly when I called to complain.

We enjoyed our stay there and would stay there again. With the easy access to everything, the price is right.

Room Tip: If you park in back, you have to switch elevators in the lobby to get to the upper hotel room floors...

I think his name was AJ? He was very nice and accommodating and made me feel extremely welcome and comfortable. Bed was great, room was nicely sized...only issue was that I had the heat cranked to 85 but it never felt like it got warm. Good fitness room (their machines actually worked without making the axe murderer squeak) and excellent location. Parking could be better because by the time I got there in the evening, I had to park in the back and lugging a suitcase over those speed bumps in stilettos was not exactly a walk in the park. Regardless, they have Starbucks coffee and it was very clean and accommodating. I will definitely be coming back. I hope to see AJ there as well!

Some people complained of noise...I didn't hear a thing. Then again, I am a dead sleeper and the room faced the street as well.

This hotel is a great option for those who have an early morning flight out of Reagan National or those touring DC on a budget. Free parking and wireless internet, walking distance to Metro (with a short ride to the Mall), long walk/short taxi ride to Old Town Alexandria, and best of all, a great price. The hotel was clean and the service was good. Why pay a lot more to stay in DC when you are just a few miles/minutes away for much less?
