“Great location, clean rooms and helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012 via mobile

This is the perfect place to stay while seeing DC. The rooms are big, updated, and clean. The hotel has free parking and a shuttle to take you to the metro and/or restaurants close by. We opted to walk as the neighborhood was very safe and the restaurants/metro were very close. It was about a 15 minute ride to the city.

Beautiful hotel. It exceeded my expectations and the staff was wonderful. I will definitely return if I'm ever back in the area. Great for business trips or personal stays. Short drive across the bridge to the harbor and dc attractions. Modern furniture, clean and spacious rooms, continental breakfast could be better but its hotel food, so what do you expect! I loved this hotel! I recommend!!!!

Room Tip: The king suites are great. I traveled with my grandmother and boyfriend. Odd right?! We all stayed i...

We booked our room for $99 on Saturday night and received a king sized bed w/small sitting area and large flat screen TV. The room was clean and decorated nicely. The bathroom was also larger than most. It is close to a metro shop and several restaurants, movie theaters, etc. and they offer shuttle services. Check-in was very quick and the staff was prompt, polite and attentive. In fact, the staff was one of the biggest reasons I would go back to that location. They also allowed us to check in early and were very accommodating. The biggest downside is beyond their control, the hotel is right in the middle of a huge confusing construction zone. There was also a false fire alarm at 7:30 a.m. on our planned sleep in late Sunday. However, they offered us a free breakfast in the Bistro for our inconvenience without any prompting from us. Overall, a nice stay if visiting Alexandria.

Dear Windfair -

I am so glad that you enjoyed your recent stay with us! I really appreciate your understanding and patience with the false alarm on Sunday Morning. Sometimes, no matter how much we prepare, things still happen! The good news is that the system works, and did what it was supposed to do!

We look forward to having you back with us again and I really hope you get the opportunity to sleep in next time!

Arrived in a car, family of 4. Easy to get to, and the parking is easy and reasonable - it's indoor next to the hotel. The staff are amongst the best / nicest we have encountered anywhere - showing an interest and being exceptionally helpful. There is a courtesy bus which takes you (and picks you up) from the nearest Metro and also took us to a restaurant in the evening. The hotel is very impressive given the price and the lobby and rooms were of a much higher standard than we were expecting. The main lobby is good and there is breakfast which the hotel gave us vouchers for. The room was clean and functional (air con was a bit noisy) but there is free wifi.
We stayed for two nights and were really impressed but most especially by the excellent staff.

Avert nice, safe area, I'm here with my wife, kids, my sitter, and her children, feel as safe as home. Staff A+, rooms A. Location B+. Only the TV does not have any international channels, that is a drag. Will defiantly come back next summer,,,,,,,,

Dear SRJY -

We are so happy that you enjoyed your recent stay with us! While we do have limited channels in our guest rooms, we have a full array of variety channels available in our Lobby and Bistro area. The televisions in these area's have a very expanded channel base and you can even have your own private booth with tv!

Please come down and enjoy an appetizer, cold beverage or dinner while you surf the channels!

We look forward to seeing you next time!

Hello Gary B!

I wanted to take a moment and let you know that I have seen your comments regarding your shuttle experience at our hotel. I'm so sorry that you and your wife had to make the walk from the Metro station to the hotel. While its a short walk, I understand what a challenge it could be with your wife's condition.

We do have a final shuttle pickup time of 10:45 pm each night due to travel time, staffig and costs. However, we have to balance that with understanding our guest's needs and being as accomodating as possible. At the least, we should have called a taxi cab for you so that you did not have to walk.

We will be addressing issues like this at our next staff meeting to ensure our team understands the importance of each guest service opportunity.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and I hope you will give us another chance the next time you are in the area!
