Eight-story building sandwiched between the Capital Beltway (I-95, I-495) and Eisenhower Avenue. For those without a car, the hotel’s shuttle service on request will take you from and to the Eisenhower Avenue Metro station (third Metro stop from R. Reagan Washington National Airport) and also into and from Old Town Alexandria. (The Yellow Metro train takes 20-25 minutes to stations either side of The Mall in DC proper.)
If you walk to the hotel from the station (about 15 minutes), head towards to the Holiday Inn and continue past it over the bridge to the other side where you will find the Courtyard Marriott.
Rooms on the quieter side of the hotel face Eisenhower Avenue and from the uppermost floors have a pleasant view. A gap between the bottom of the room door and the carpet can admit noise from the corridor. The eighth floor has the exercise room; you might want to avoid rooms adjoining, opposite or under it. The hotel provides free newspapers and 24-hour coffee-tea-chocolate at the entrance to the bar-TV area opposite the Reception desk. Good breakfast buffet.
For sightseeing in Alexandria, have the shuttle take you to the Potomac River waterfront and then wander along King street to browse at the shops. You can visit the George Washington Masonic National Memorial and also enjoy a beautiful view over the surrounding area. If you do not want to walk back to the hotel, phone to have the shuttle pick you up.
