I had booked a room in this hotel from one of the online travel websites when I visited DC with a friend. The person at the front desk was clearly racist against Indians. He conned us into upgrading to another room for extra $20 saying the room we had booked had only a single bed and plus he wanted us to pay in cash so that we can avoid tax. We clearly refused and told him to charge the amount to my credit card. This somehow upset him and he started making unwarranted comments on Indians in general. I would not like to repeat what he said, but it definitely had racist undertone.
The room when we entered was freezing cold. The temp outside was 25 F and somebody had opened the windows in the room(probably the cleaners). We had to switch on the heat and it took close to an hour before the room was livable. The room in itself was not great in any aspect. The bed was average. The heating control was bad, I had to get up in the middle of the night to reduce the heat as it had made the room feel like an oven.
The breakfast was meagre, coffee was bad.
Overall, a bad experience from the moment we stepped up to the front desk. Avoid this hotel if possible.
