“good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2009

it is not the nicest hotel, but since the remodel it is ok. The rooms are clean and if you get one on the courtyard side they are very quite. the parking is tight in the garage but managable. I stay here about 4-5 times a year and the only problem I've had is the fire alarm has gone off two times, and it takes forever to get it shut back off. ( never has been a fire). It is better than staying in DC and its close to everything ( in the middle of all the stuff to do) I have not taken my family but plan to in the future, it has a nice pool and out of the husle and busle of down town.

Hotel was very clean and in good condition. Rooms are a nice size. Elevators were a little slow. The hotel stated a $15 fee for parking, but they never charged us. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool.

It is in a decent location. About a 10 minute walk to the center of Old Town in one direction and a 10 minute walk to the Metro in the other direction. The Metro makes it easy to get into downtown DC and Reagan International.

I would not recommend breakfast at the hotel. The food was not that good. There are plenty of diners in the area plus a Giant Foodmart across the street.

We stayed here for my husbands Navy reunion. The hotel was very nice. I have to say the prices at the bar were expensive, but we had our own hospitality room and that took care of that. The staff was nice and helpful. The rooms were large and quiet. The food was just okay for breakfast and the the banquet food was not the greatest. Did not use the pool, but some said the hot tub was nice. Good area, could walk to a few restaurants, and they had a shuttle to King street where there's lots and lots of shopping and eateries. Giant grocery store across the street and a liquor store next to the Giant. We had a group rate for the room, and some of our meals were included in the price of the room. Parking is $15. per night, but they waved that for the reunion. Shuttle to the Metro if you want to visit DC and all the wonderful museums and such.

I stayed here for a weekend getaway and had a wonderful experience. The staff couldn't be nicer, even after I lost my key, not once, but twice. The room was clean with a comfortable bed and flat screen tv. The wireless internet was free and fast. The towels in the bathroom were fluffy and the soaps etc. provided were of good quality. Keep in mind that this is not a 5 star hotel, so you are going to get what you pay for. I got a rate of $87 a night with AAA membership. What a deal!

This hotel was really nice. The beds were comfy, rooms were clean. Apparently, the hotel had just completed some renovations. Everything looked really new. The lobby was really nice and the restaurant was pretty casual. The hotel is one of the few with free wi-fi internet and free shuttle to/from the airport. The hotel also has a shuttle that leaves every hour to take you to/from the Old Town area. Also, there is a grocery store right across the way, which was very helpful during the length of my stay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the stay. I really enjoyed the hotel. The only lacking was that the room service menu did not have many selections, but I believe that they are slowly adding more choices.

We booked our stay for three days over Thanksgiving weekend 2008 and chose this hotel primarily because of its pet friendly policy. The hotel is located in a quiet, primarily residential area of Old Town and is about 8 blocks from the King Street shopping district. There are restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance. The king room we had was large and comfortably furnished. The only negative is that the bathroom is on the small side. The hotel is very quiet - hallways are wide and well lit. Pet policy on the website said that there was a $25 per day charge - when we checked in, a flat fee of $50 was charged for our 3 day stay. There is also a $15 per day parking fee for the covered parking garage. All this was OK because at $100 per day, this hotel was a good bargain for a metropolitan area. I'd recommend this hotel for business or vacation, even if you don't require pet friendly accommodations.

I stayed here for a business trip this week. I am very particular because I do travel a lot and did not experience the same issues as the other person who stayed Nov 20. Since I knew they were doing construction, the situation in the parking garage did not get to me since i figured they needed a staging area to work, and there was ample parking. Didn't notice any overflowing dumpsters.

I'm the kind who looks for hair on the batthroom floor of previous guests; i did not find this. The rooms were clean and the floor did not need vacuuming. The TV was a nice flat panel screen. However, I will say that while the beds and bedding are new, the wood furniture is in horrible condition; the thing that holds the TV was cracked and worn. The wireless worked great. They provided nice enough shampoos/soaps.

A plus that hasn't been mentioned is the Giant across the street.

Government travelers do get free breakfasts and the buffet was adequate. I did notice that the table they sat me at on Day 2 did need to be wiped better.

Check-in was efficient and pleasant. My front desk clerk, Brian, was very nice. I had called that I was going to be a bit later than I thought.

Avoid getting dinner here; I got some tasteless Caesar Salad. Walk 2 blocks up to the Italian Resturant across from the Sheraton.

  • Liked — convenient to GWP which I needed to get onto 395
  • Disliked — furniture
