George Washington's effects and so much more are on display here, and the view from the top of the tower is one of the best in greater DC! Who knew?
So much to see that the tour doesn't allow enough time. There is everything from a re-creation of the first Masonic meeting rooms to many and numerous artifacts from both George Washington and the 18th century. Tours do not allow as much time as you want in the museum floors, and while I realize they need to get people through every 1 1/2 hours, it would be nice if they had an option to spend longer in the museum. The views from the top are amazing, and you'll want your camera. Additionally, you get a gigantic statue of The Great Man himself, huge murals depicting important events, and a chance to glimpse some splendid working Masonic chambers. Oh, and there was a great exhibit of historic Masonic buildings in the basement. It's a fascinating walk through history. Don't miss it!
