“Tho Other Washington Monument”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

Nice monument but overshadowed by all the other great sights in the DC area. It is easy to get to and I have never had any parking problems. For those who did not know that Washington was a Mason, it should have added interest.

“Worth the visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012 via mobile

After driving by this memorial for several years and multiple trips to the area, finally went for a tour and visit. Cost was $8 for the tour including to the observation deck. From this deck you can see all of Alexandria, the Potomac, Downtown DC. The architecture is outstanding. The sheer size of the building is overwhelming. Inside you will find significant exhibits related to both Washington and the Freemasons. Both were interesting and worth spending more time. The tour guide was knowledgable but could have been more excited.

Beautiful building, Inside is amazing. Not hard to find and worth the trip if Mason's and their history interest you.

“Weird and creepy and fascinating”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

This is like the cult of George Washington. A little creepy (pieces of his hair). A little bit occult (there's a point where you can glimpse a replica of the Arc of the Covenant... for 15 seconds!). A great piece of local history, with early pics of Alexandria. The view from the front of the building, and from the top is amazing. And who can resist the slanting elevators? Really cool - but LOTS of walking / climbing.

“Architecture was outstanding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Well worth a tour, architecture was outstanding, very nicely done, makes you realize that masons are not a cult as many believe but a moral and upstanding community of people, including many presidents and well-known people.
