The tavern and the history of the area are so incorporated into the building, the history, and the surrounding interplay within the town and the Revolutionary era

“Great Museum.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

The tours are very inexpensive and the staff is polite and knowledgeable about the history. They have many rooms set up how they would have been back in the colonial time period. Great Stop!

If you love history, this is your spot! Exquisite to know you're eating where George Washington once frequented and danced! Beautiful place to wander, good food.

“Worth a stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

It's small, it's fast, it's cheap -- and George Washington celebrated his birthday there! If you like American history and have a good imagination, then you will probably enjoy this little museum.
