This is a wonderful place to stay. We stayed one night, and wish we could have stayed longer. The owners are very friendly and run a clean, professional establishment. The breakfast was delicious, and the rooms are beautiful and very well maintained. It was nice to be able to meet visitors from other places, too, and everyone was very nice. The owners were kind enough to help us make reservations for tickets to Monticello, which we visited the next day, and were very helpful in answering questions about local places to go to for dinner, and other places to visit (wineries, etc.). I hope that we will be able to go back and stay here again, and highly recommend Afton Mountain Bed & Breakfast to anyone who would like a lovely, pleasant and relaxing place to stay.

I was only able to spend one night at Afton Mountain - my first B&B, but I know I'll be back for more! The location is convenient to the Blue Ridge Parkway, as well as Charlottesville. The price was extremely reasonable for the comfortable bed, terrific hospitality and unbelievable breakfast - croissants topped with fresh, locally grown strawberries. The Ingrahams, along with their dog Bailey, made my short vacation an enjoyable and memorable experience. Hopefully I'll make it back soon!

Our experience echoes all the great reviews on here. We were heading to the Charlottesville area for a wedding and needed a place to stay. The Afton Mtn B&B had the cheapest price, great reviews, and the added benefit of character (compared to the chain motels). We are very pleased with our decision.

Dan and Orquida accommodated our early arrival, gave us a tour, and recommended a GREAT deli/market for lunch (Greenwood Grocery, on 250 @ I-64 exit 107). Our room was comfortable and cool on a 100 degree day. There were numerous lady bugs, beetles and moths in the room. It didn't bother us at all (it's summer, and an old house!) but just a note in case you're a bug-o-phobe. The house is very nicely kept, and the resident K9 is calm and friendly.

Breakfast was very tasty and filling, and the conversation with the other guests was the best part. Wish we could have stayed more than one night, but we'll be back!

We had a very nice stay at the Afton Mountain Bed & Breakfast. Orquida and Dan were very welcoming hosts that made us feel right at home in their beautiful historic home. Breakfast was delicious and we really appreciated the early-morning coffee before breakfast. Our room was very comfortable and had its own bathroom, which was small, but adequate. Also enjoyed the outdoor porch areas for reading and listening to the birds.

The Nelson County area also provides lots of activities which we enjoyed and more dining options than we expected. We especially liked the Blue Mountain Brewery right up the road - very neat place.
