I stay here often, as it is right next door to the customer site. It is on par with the average Marriott hotel. Rooms are clean, and are roomier than the average hotel room (especially the huge handicapped rooms.) It is nice if you have to work in the area, but I prefer downtown hotels to get the real Austin feel.
Service here is so-so. Room service (breakfast) is on-time about 1/2 of the time. They were 25 minutes late when I last ordered it.
The big issue here is the large groups that stay here. They can be noisy, especially because the courtyard inside the hotel is roofed, so everything echoes. It is especially loud for the rooms that face the courtyard. If the group is a local group, you can forget about parking (even valet.) I had to park on the side of the main road about 1/2 mile away once.
I would recommend this hotel for business, but just make sure you don't get an interior room if you are a light sleeper. Go downtown for a getaway in Austin so you can enjoy the culture easier.
Restaurant food is good, service was good as well. I agree with the other posters that the little coffee bar in the courtyard is way overpriced.
The hotel is situated near many restaurants from chain to original, including Cheesecake Factory, PF Changs, TGI Fridays, ZTejas, and more.
