“Weekend get away”

Service by the staff was impeccable and attention to detail was wonderful. The room was comfortable and well appointed. They were able to make last minute dinner reservations for us at a great local restaurant.

The Renassance is a bit out of town in NW Austin in trhe surburbs but its a very nice place to stay, 5 minutes to The Domain, 30 mins ot Round Rock Outlet and 25 mins to Downtown a taxi etc.
The hotel is in a quiet location with a few shops and restaurant around it which is very handy. The hotel decor is very good, up to date and modern. The hotel has a vast auditorium with like a plaza in the middle, overall its very nice nothing to complain or be unhappy about.
The bar area is very nice, looks of screens with all the sports going on, very nicely laid out and relaxing. Gym is fairly decent in the plaza level, seems to have an indoor swimming pool though not that big, spa etc.
Rooms are nice and spacious, was in a club room on the 9th floor. Warning though as the club lounge is only open for breakfast Saturday and Sunday and closes after breakfast all day Friday, Saturday, Sunday so no point at all having a club room and paying the extra money.

This is SXSW time so its the only room i could get else would have choose a standard room.
Some compliant in TA seemt o say noise comes from the bar/auditorium area, during the stay i noticed none at all so i would not let that put anyone off.

Would staty here again even though its a bit out of the way for Downtown. You have to pay for the internet to in the room, $9.95 for high speed and $15.95 for enhanced high speed a day which is terrible, think its freein bar and lobby area but crazy in this modern hotel world to payt for internet, big minus.

The hotel was great and staff were wonderful. the downside is the hotel is in the NW corner of the city and was a $40 cab ride to the "downtown" area of Austin. the bar is in the lobby of the hotel and the noise echos straight up to your room so its a bit loud to sleep. If you are a light sleeper I would not pick this hotel as it appears to hold a lot of conventions at one time and is a very large hotel with lots of people wandering around until late into the evening.

Room Tip: try to get a room on an upper floor overlooking downtown, on a clear night the lights are awesome!

A friend of mine and I stayed at the Renaissance Hotel on Saturday, March 1st, 2014. We were attending the Varekai, Cirque Du Soleil show in Cedar Park, TX nearby. We were supposedly at the Concierge level but our view was one of the rooftop parking lot of another building. I thought the room was comfortable and nice. Although, when we tried to get a snack before the show at 2:30 their restaurant/bar was not open. They had a coffee shop there where we ordered a tortilla soup. The Hispanic lady behind the counter was cold and looked like she hated working there.
Before, we left to the show we noticed they were set for some kind of gala in their main lobby. We came back from our show and and I could not fall asleep because the noise from their auction and casino event was very, very loud. We were on the 9th floor and I STILL HEARD IT.
I actually thought the hotel was very nice but, I would advise people to check in advance whether there will be any loud conventions or events at the date of your stay.
The morning breakfast at the concierge level was very good.

Room Tip: I would check in advance if they are having a convention or event where the noise level would be too...

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience from your recent stay at our hotel. I am disappointed to read that your stay with us was less than exceptional. Please know that you are a valued guest and your satisfaction is extremely important to us. I will most definitely be sharing your feedback regarding the interaction you had with one of our Ambassadors. This is definitely not the service we strive for our guests to receive nor is it acceptable. I will also be sharing your comments with my team regarding the noise volumes due to the event we had in the hotel during your stay. Thank you for bringing these areas of opportunity to our attention so that we can ensure proper training, procedures, and processes are in place so that each of our guests have a wonderful time while with us. It's comments like yours that allows for continuous improvements in all areas of our hotel.

I do hope that when your future plans include Austin, that we will once again have another opportunity to serve you in the true spirit of Renaissance hospitality.

Warm regards, Rob G.

Stayed here on 3/1/14 for our honeymoon and upon arrival were upgraded to a top floor suite and complimentary breakfast in the VIP club lounge. The room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated and we had a great panoramic view of Austin from our bedroom. The room had Aveda toiletries and an incredible face scrub which was a very nice treat. When we woke our room had a leak in the living room area of our suite so the hotel gave us room service/restaurant credit which we very much enjoyed and they also refunded our entire stay! Every employee we encountered was extremely polite, helpful and seemed eager to please us. Had a great time and we hope to come back for an anniversary stay :)

I really enjoyed my stay at the Renaissance Austin hotel. I had a very spacious room, and everything was in good condition. The front desk and concierge lounge staff was very courteous and helpful. All in all, nothing negative to be said about this hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel before. The good:
The rooms were recently redone and are modern.
The room ammenities were Aveda and I liked them. They have great salt scrubs in the hotel lobby bathrooms. They were so great that I bought some to take home.

The bad:They have a few quirks in the rooms- there are no drawers, the light switches for the bedside lamps are hard to find (I found them but my colleagues had to call the front desk to find the switch), the outlets are on the side of the desk and not noticeable at first. I was lucky, I had a room that did not face the noisy courtyard. The service was very erratic. The speed dial buttons on the phone didn't work; you need to dial 0 for everything which is OK if they told you and covered the other buttons.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience from your recent stay at our hotel! I'm delighted to read that you enjoyed the Aveda products as well as the salt scrub during your time with us. I am disappointed to hear that you had difficulty locating the light switches in our guest rooms. The lack of drawers in the rooms is something that we are definitely aware of and are in the process of correcting currently. I will definitely be sharing your feedback regarding the speed dial buttons not working properly with the appropriate department leaders so they can be checked immediately. It's comments like yours that allow for continuous improvements as our guests satisfaction is always our number one priority. We hope that we will have another opportunity to welcome you back to Austin and the Renaissance Austin Hotel in the near future.

Thank you again for sharing your stay with us!

All the best, Rob G.
