“Great hotel, great dining, helpful conference staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

I spoke at a meeting held in this hotel and would come back in a minute. Friendly, helpful staff throughout the hotel and, happily, great casual dining. Thanks to all for a great stay and highly successful meeting.

After a long day visiting UT, we were pleasantly surprised to arrive at the Renaissance Austin. It was away from the hustle and bustle of the college crowd, but had plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. The staff was friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable. The unique interior design was fun and interesting.

If you are traveling to North Austin and need a great hotel to take a break from your business trip or having a conference, the Renaissance Austin really does it right. The decor is older but very nice and well taken care of. The interior design of the hotel with its open atrium architecture is very unique and interesting.

Every time I go the service is impeccable and you rally can't go wrong here. The bar is enjoyable in the even and attracts an interesting crowd of travelers. Good restaurants abound nearby as well.

Staff are always pleasant and helpful from the doormen to housekeeping. Rooms are clean and spacious. Great workout room, pool inside and out with ample seating. Sauna also but didn't use. Lots of great places to eat within walking distance so never ate at hotel!

Room Tip: Our room was on the 7th floor and faced the front of the hotel. Quiet and nice view.

It was our first time to stay at the Renaissance in Austin. Great location to the Arboretum shopping. Walking distance to the shopping (and the Cheesecake Factory!). Very clean hotel. Nice indoor pool and hot tub. Large workout facility. The drinks at the bar were only so-so. Staff very friendly. Will probably try another hotel at the Arboretum next time given the price of this hotel. Was very quiet and bed was very comfortable. Black-out curtains worked very well.

A large convention hotel with a huge interior atrium. Well appointed rooms, two eating options, free parking. Nestled in Austin's Arboretum with plenty of shopping and restaurants. Ask for a room with an interior balcony overlooking the atrium.

I only spent one night here.
The service I got was warm and personal. I really liked that.

However, my room could use a few improvements.
The bathroom featured pink tiles, staight from the 70's.
The furniture looked just as outdated.
The AC was blasting too hard, and didn't respond to me trying to tune it down. I ended up turning it off.
This room was facing the center atrium, and could be easily be looked into from some corridores

The bed was very comfortable, and TV selections look OK.

Breakfast in "Banderas" was unjustifiably expensive.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the outside of the hotel.
