This is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in my life. My wife and I checked in for the weekend because it was close to where our friends live. Never again. Check in personnel were somewhat confused but no real problem there. Then, we got to the room. Looked like something out of a bad movie. Wallpaper tearing off the wall, dirty bed spread, thread-bear carpets, TV only displayed 4 channels in some kind of red color, the desk and night stand literally had holes in them (as if something had been bolted to them at one time), there was no showerhead (i.e. water just shooting out of a pipe). We called the front desk to get a new room and they informed us there were no other rooms available--which must have been a lie because there was no way the hotel was full. On the second day, we got a call from the front desk informing us that there would be no maid service, and that if we needed new towels we should come to the front desk to exchange ours. Asked to talk to the manager, and I was told he was "off the property." Couldn't really blame him, wouldn't want to be there if I were him, either. To make things even more insulting, emails and letters to Ramada, Inc. went unanswered. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

This was the absolute worst hotel experience
in my entire life!!!
The room had no heat on a 17 degree night and the
bathtub was filthy. They
moved me to another room where the remote
was held together with duct tape and after
getting another remote---then the TV did not
work. I disovered the next morning
that I (female) had slept alone all
night in a ground floor room with
windows unlocked. When I checked out, I
asked to speak the manager--not in. Then I filled
out a report and asked for management to contact
me ---that never happened. I was told that this
inn is individually owned and most Ramadas are--If
that is true, then I think they should not be
allowed to use the chain name.

Don't waste your time or money on this hotel - pick *anything* else in Austin and you'll do better.

Where to begin...

The lobby was old and smelled musty. The internet computer in the lobby didn't work. My non-smoking room smelled nasty and smoky. No cell phone signal. Electrical outlet by the desk didn't appear to work. The bathroom had a gaping hole in the wall where you could see the plumbing and all sorts of nastiness. Bathroom sink was yellow and cracked, tub faucet dripped. My friend's room reeked of perfume and where his smoke alarm should have been, there was a hole in the wall with wires poking out. And his room had ants. We cancelled our rooms and left within half an hour. Head in the direction of where I-35 crosses Ben White, there are plenty of hotels in that neighborhood.

This was the worst experience ever! I had reserved a room for two nights. When we checked in and got our card for our room, the card wouldn't ulock the door. After several tries, the maintenance man inside the room opens the door and says that he is working in the room and that it was unavailable. We were then given a room next door. No big deal. The next night when we get back to the room, our card was deactivated for some reason, which we were better off outside sleeping in our vehicle because when we got into the room, all you could here was loud music. I called the front desk to complain and was told that there was a reception going on that night and that they would go in "there" and tell them to turn down the music. The music was so loud, that I thought that I was actually in a club! After 30 minutes and the music still vibrating the walls, I called the front desk and the clerk was annoyed with me! She told me that the reception would be over at midnight and hung up! So, if you are planning to reserve a room, make sure that you ask if there is a reception or anything going on, and if there is, go somewhere else.

My husband and I had booked the hotel several weeks in advance and prepaid using our credit card. Our flight was late so we arrived at the hotel late, but since the room was prepaid, we didn't worry. The front desk clerk could not find our reservation and after waiting for almost an hour he finally found us a room, a smoking room. We had reserved a non smoking room. We asked to speak to the manager, but we were told he is never there during the weekends. We were tired and decided to stay for that just one night. To our surprise we open the door and find a couple already asleep in the room. They were of course startled and upset. We go down to the lobby to tell the guy that our room is already ocuppied. He of couse doesn't believe us and calls the room. He was totally lost as to what to do, he kept shuffling papers around and looking for keys. It takes him 20 more mintutes to find us another room. The room was smelly and dirty. We called the Ramada Inn corporate office and all they told us is that the hotels are independently owned and we should talk to the front desk, big help ! We had always had good experiences with RAmada Inns, nothing fancy but at least clean. We checked out the next morning. Don't stay here.
