“Nice Grandparents Night Away”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

Our daughter and son-in-law have stayed here every year since their wedding night as an anniversary get-away.
We needed some down time, and found a great deal on a Thursday night stay, so we went!!
Sadly, we're in a drought down here in Texas, and the river/lake are WAY down, but still blue-green and fresh and nice!
Our room was clean and had no unpleasant odors, as do some places.
The adult pool was 88 degrees warm, and we had it to ourselves due to a pending thunderstorm. We each had a drink at the swim-up bar, and they were delicious and not terribly over-priced.
We had dinner at the steak house. The portions were generous, and the flavors were incredible. Prices were not terribly high.
I would have liked a mini-fridge and microwave, but they were not in the room. :(
The bedding was soft and very comfortable, and we slept quite well.

Room Tip: If you are a non smoker, don't get a room near the Back Porch Bar. Smoking is permitted, and it...

Lakeway was a refreshing experience on the outskirts of Austin. Our room was very nice- clean and new. They have just opened their new restaurant and it was great. The breakfast buffet was a great deal and the space has an amazing view. Lake Travis is at an incredibly low level due to recent droughts so it is not the prettiest sight, but the pools at Lakeway make up for it. We spent hours at the 3 level pool just relaxing, swimming, and having a pina colada from the sunset bar. The water was so warm and pleasant. I didn't use the spa but it looked nice. I understand they are still renovating a few buildings but didn't notice a big interruption in service. The main lodge building is great and has amazing balconies. There is a nice coffee bar and happy hour in the main area. Staff was super friendly. I loved the doorman/valet who always had a warm greeting. We would definitely return!

Room Tip: Try to get a lake view

Even though it was like driving through a maze getting from the main road to this hotel, it was worth the effort. The hotel is like a lodge - warm and inviting. All the staff was friendly and helpful. The pool area is great - adults (without kids) can enjoy the adult area without kids jumping all over them and the families have 2 large pools with a slide that they can enjoy too! Everyone can have fun. The sauna and spa area is good too and staff is helpful. The only con would be that the only restaurant on the premises is very pricey so bring lots of $$. All in All the views are great and I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: Rooms with balconies are wonderful because you can sit out in the private area and enjoy nature.

I brought my fiance' to Lakeway resort to celebrate my birthday weekend. This was his first time and he was blown away. The views are fantastic...even though the river was low this weekend and it was an overcast, he still thought our LakeView room was awesome. There was even a deer below our balcony who kept looking up at us like he was smiling and saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Our room was very clean, and the resort staff was outstanding. Everyone from the guy that helped with our bags, to the front desk guy that checked us in, to the valet service people were top notch. We relaxed by the pool and even the pool bartenders were awesome. We only stayed one day this time as we were in route to San Antonio for Fiesta, but we have already decided that when we come back we are going to stay the entire weekend. It was a perfect relaxing weekend and I can't wait to visit again. The Oasis restaraunt was awesome and that sunset just blew us away. Thanks for everything LakeWay!

Room Tip: Definitely spend the few extra dollars for the balcony King LakeView room. It is so worth it!

This hotel is in a wonderful location adjacent the lake with great views but the hotel facility is just mediocre at best. If you're planning a conference here, note that the conference rooms are atypical with lots of windows, which is nice but difficult to control the lighting. It needs some renovating and updating, things look a bit dingy and worn down.

Lakeway Resort and Spa is currently undergoing renovations to several areas of the resort including updating our meeting rooms and lobby area. Additionally, we will open our new restaurant, Masterson’s Steakhouse on May 3. The upgrades to the meeting spaces and common areas are scheduled for completion by Memorial Weekend. Our final phase of renovations will begin later in the year with upgrades to our guest rooms. We are very excited about the improvements and hope you will return to the resort.

My boyfriend and I came here on our very first "get away weekend". The sunsets over Lake Travis are incredible, the pool/garden area is spectacular day or night , but at twilight it is simply magical. The staff are gracious, the rooms are comfortable. We recently came back here after 4 yrs since our first visit and I was elated to see that the grounds had been expanded, the hotel had new ammenities, and the staff were still as gracious. We will definitely be coming back here again and we are even talking about making this an annual trip.

We were not enjoying our stay because the "hillside" view was of the parking lot. The spa menu for our lunch was very small and it was ver upsetting to us so when we let the spa staff know...the manager at the spa took care of us! She got us a full menu and talked to the hotel staff who ended up upgrading us for free to a lakeside view. Even though the lake is down it was still beautiful and we saw tons of deer. They also had happy hour with free beer and wine as well as some appetizers. The rooms definitely do need renovating, but what hotel doesn't? Some say its over priced but where else are you going to get all that? We have Tania and the spa staff to thank for changing our experience.

Yes, the resort is undergoing several renovations including opening a new restaurant in a few months. We will begin room renovations later this year.
