this is my second stay at the hyatt regency in austin and it was great. clean and comfortable room and updated facilities are all that i ask for. the restaurant was great and the lounge was also. all within walking distance to congress st and the great restaurants along barton springs. parking was a little difficult but I'm in the construction business so i understand.

The facility out of the room was gourgeous and I could feel rich while drinking in the bar of the hotel. Also, the view from the hotel's ground floor to the bridge and many tall buildings in downtown were very beautiful, especially in the night time. However, although the room rate was 400 USD per night, the room looked like an ordinal business hotel. To be honest, the performance of the room was low against the cost.

Room Tip: Rooms on the river side will be good. More expensive though....

This is an older property without much character- that said it has a perfect location on the lake with beautiful views of the lake and Austin- Nice location on a nice day for a walk along the banks of the lake.

The rooms are nice but a bit bland- first time I've been offered ear plugs at a Hyatt- didn't need to use them but still weird that they were there in the first place. As a Diamond member received free breakfast in the restaurant since the hotel doesn't have a lounge. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Also used one of my Diamond suite upgrades- suite was ok but i have had better.

My main issue is the new parking garage- you have to walk downstairs and along a pathway to get between the hotel and garage...... in a few month the elevators and walkway will be ready but I think it's crazy to charge $19.00 for an unfinished garage.....I really think the hotel should be rethinking the charge as it's unfair given the current construction site atmosphere..... not a good first impression!

Nice location near lake. Downtown is close. Rooms are large. Clean bathrooms. The construction nearby the hotel makes approach difficult. To compensate it the hotel should give free parking. ...........

Room Tip: Ask for lake view room.

Beautiful hotel and great service, but the busy lobby made it impossible to have a quiet evening! On top of things my last evening there, they were hosting a party that went until probably 2am.
The rooms all had complimentary ear plugs so I guess the noise in the rooms from the lobby is something they are aware of.

Overall though, great location, wonderful staff, and clean rooms

I live in Austin but stayed for a long weekend with a friend who was visiting for a wedding. This hotel has an amazing top floor space for a wedding that has exquisite views of Austin, Town Lake, and the hills to the west. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. The only issue with the layout of the hotel is the atrium style tends to amplify noise at night that could be heard by sensitive ears like mine if people get rambunctious in the lobby bar. The coffee shop is a little slow but convenient. The location gives great access to the south trail of Town Lake and the bat bridge is walkable. Adventurous types could also walk to South Congress [quirky and famous bars, restaurants, shopping], but you may need a taxi if going downtown to Sixth Street, etc.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake-view room/view of downtown not south Austin.
