This review is going to be a stark contrast to the two prior reviews. I found the staff to be one of the highlights of staying here.
There seem to be 2 sets of staff. One for the weekend and one for during the week. I was here for both and found them both to be very friendly and helpful. I am so sorry I don't remember the gentleman's name who is there on the weekend because he was terrific!
When we needed something we picked up the phone, called, left a message. Then tried the 2nd number (they give you several) got through to someone and they helped us immediately.
Things to love about this place:
-My room was fantastic! I saw several of the other rooms too, all nicely decorated, big fluffy beds, etc.
-Gorgeous marble bathroom with big whirlpool tub.
-Nice grounds.
-Quiet nieghborhood, but close to activities.
-Games, videos, area guidebooks.
-Nice parlor to hang out in, in case you want a change of senery from your room.
-Wine. Wine for guests in the hallway downstairs.
-Hot breakfast on the weekends (continental on weekdays, but plenty to choose from including fresh fruit in fridge).
-Mini-fridge in room.
Things that need improvement:
-The handpainted floor in the sitting room needs mopping! I think they are afraid they'll take off the paint, but it's time. Otherwise everything else was immaculate.
-Should have self locking doors. You have to lock the door (with your key) from the outside everytime you go out. Pain in the butt and people leave them unlocked (unsafe) as a result.
-The wireless internet is pretty bad. Just stop advertising it or improve accessibility.
