“Beautiful Church”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2014

St. Mary's is a small but beautiful cathedral. The doors are always open and there are restrooms in the basement. The architecture is fantastic and mass there was very nice.

Getting to go to mass while on vacation was amazing. This cathedral is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

“Simple Elegance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013 via mobile

Unlike the cathedrals of Europe and eastern United States, this one was built at he end of the 19th century as a parish church for the small city of Austin. It shows in the smaller size and greater simplicity of this space, which is a nice departure from the grand spaces and gilded churches found elsewhere.

“Beautiful & Historic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013 via mobile

This is a beautiful place to stop if you are visiting downtown. The cathedral is restored and is simply beautiful. There is a gift shop, too! This should just be a place to stop on your tour of downtown Austin. (ie it doesn't take all day to see it all!)

It's an easy walk to many great lunch places such as 1886 cafe at the Driskill!
