I'm very disappointed this is listed under restaurants instead of attractions, as while the food is just "OK", the atmosphere and entertainment is literally half the reason I decided to move to Austin. Seriously, this is why I chose to live in Austin. The Alamo Drafthouse is my favorite thing to do whenever I have visitors come to Austin, and they always list it as their favorite thing they did.
It's not your average movie theater, nor even your average food/beverage movie theater. They do all kinds of special screenings, from quote-a-longs, to sing-a-longs (theater karaoke essentially), to a live version of MST3K called Master Pancake (3 comedians sit at the front to make fun of the movie being played, it's ridiculously funny!) to Lord of the Rings marathons, to unique screenings of old movies (The Wizard with the Fred Savage, the director, and Luke Edwards in attendance). Just check the schedule and see what amazing things they have the week you're there. Seriously, if you visit Austin without visiting this theater, you haven't really experienced Austin. It sadness me that this is listed so low on restaurants since it's so amazing in entertainment as it deserves to be in the top 10 things to do in Austin, easily.
