“Good Food, Comfortable Atmosphere, Friendly Staff...Genuine!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Friday night at 7:30pm in Austin TX certainly has the potential to create anxiety and impatience. Not here! We arrived to a Standing Room Only environment, and yet felt a strong sense of comfort and relaxation. Our 50 min wait at the bar for our table only served to enhance the overall dining experience as our bartender seemed quite versed in his drink making skills as well as his desire to please the customer.
Once seated, we were promptly attended to by a very respectful waiter who addresses the male first with the utmost respect, setting the tone for our dining experience. The food was timely. The quality, very good. The spinach was a tad salty but that served to offset the huge cloves of garlic for certain. Otherwise, the taste of our food was very nice. We opted for seafood entrees. Loved the basil lemon cream sauce! Another perk was the dressing. Creamy parmasean and the house Italian were both amazingly delicious.
Service was impeccable and quite witty! The bill was much less than we anticipated, exiting for under $50 for 2 top shelf margaritas, appetizer and seafood entrees.
Overall, we enjoyed ourselves in spite of the long wait for a table. We loved the environment so much that we will make this a regular stop in Austin.

“Good Italian Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012 via mobile

We came here after the F1 Grand Prix race. Very calm atmosphere, casual elegant. Good food, predictable quality like all other Carraba's restaurants. Our waiter Jeff R. was attentive and did an excellent job. Really no complaints here, would come back any time. I enjoyed their pasta dishes and like their tiramisu, which is more of a light whipped cream than heavy mascarpone.

“Cara-rumbled”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

We used to frequent Carrabba's when we lived in another city. We went there all the time. Since having kids, we hadn't tried it until today (so it has been at least 10 years). Simply put, it was way too much money, the service was not so good (even though the place was empty), and the food was fair (at best). Our food was cool. Not good. My wife's chicken had a hair in it. We didn't complain, my wife just stopped eating it. When he asked her if she wanted a to-go box she declined and took the time to tell him that we had found a hair in the food. Instead of giving us AT LEAST a discount on that entree, he asked if the hair had happened at the restaurant. Uh....DUH? We said it had. He asked if we wanted another and we declined. The server never brought us bread although other servers were providing this for their tables. We had to ask for it. Then he brought us the wrong check and seemed annoyed when we corrected him. Since we were last there, the food has gotten pretty bad. The service used to be super. That's gotten bad too. And frankly, for what we paid, more than $140 for six people, it just wasn't a good value given the food we got. We didn't enjoy it. We won't go back. This is just another typical chain restaurant now. 10 years ago when we frequented the one in another city, it was super. Our server was really slow in removing plates from the table. We are a big family and need room.
