The original is the only way to go!
Love the pancakes dotted with bluberries!
We had lunch today at the Kerby Lane Cafe. Although the food was good, the place is dirty! Our first clue was the rancid water in the withering vase of flowers on the table. I asked my husband to move them to a vacant table nearby so we woudn't smell them. The longer we sat there, the more I noticed the overall dirty condition of the entire place. I ordered iced tea. At the first sip it tasted like it had been brewed yesterday; then I removed the iced tea spoon.....to discover it was dirty also! Not a pleasant experience at all. The food did not justify the condition of the place. Try somewhere else.
We were told this place was loved by Austinites and we went there for brunch/lunch with a party of eight (3 adults/5 kids). I and another adult had the "green green enchilada" which was really really awesome. The other adult had a seasonal favorite; stuffed acorn squash and the kids had yummy pancakes and french toast. Overall the place wasn't the cleanest as far as appearance/grunge factor goes and it was definitely a college crowd in there, who probably doesn't notice those types of things too much ;) but it was great for a large party, the service was excellent, and food was very delicious. This is the location on Guadalope Street.
