“Beer sampler and pretzels -sehr gut!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2012 via mobile

Stopped in after visiting the Bullock Museum. We had 8-beer samples and wonderfully warm pretzels and spicy mustard. Feidnly service and enjoyable outpost seating (misters and fans rolling). Apparently the new HM is going to revive the entertainment factor and an Oktoberfest is in the future. We'll return!

“Good food, fast and friendly service. Also, it is in a great location just off UT campus - easy walking distance.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

During our recent visit to UT, we stopped in for lunch at Scholz Garten. Enjoyed the good food and excellent service. Prices were reasonable for downtown and we liked being able to walk from the campus. Anyone wanting to experience a piece of Austin downtown history should plan on eating at least one meal at Scholz.

“Great little gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2012

I've passed this place so many times! It has such a neat environment. Went in and got a beer and some fried pickles while waiting for a baseball game to start! Just awesome place to be and great people all around.

“The smell draws you in...and keeps you there for dessert.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2012

My friend had always talked about Scholz with great adoration for the pulled pork and peach cobbler. So when I got out of the car to eat there for the first time, I smelled the unmistakably succulent fragrance of good barbecue. I was hooked. There were tons of options on the menu for different platters and sandwiches and sides and whatnot, so I will warn you, it may be hard to pick. But please, take this recommendation to heart...just go to Scholz Garden. It's been around for over 150 years, and their skill is clearly proven on the plate.
