“No Need to Return Because of Parking Pain”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 days ago NEW

Hotel was fine. Nothing special about the facilities - this is simply an airport business hotel; however, the parking situation for guests is irritating. There's one parking attendant for the entire lot and during the morning rush hour, there can be quite a line to get out. Additionally, parking is not included in your guest charge and you can't charge the parking back to your room - only cash or credit cards. Why they charge for parking for this isolated hotel in the middle of the airport desert I'll never know, but no need - I won't be coming back.

Room Tip: Watch out or stupid paid parking that makes getting out of the lot problematic at best.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days on business
Restaurant has excellent food, location was great for the office I worked in in South Austin, able to avoid sitting for hours on I-35.
Rooms are large but need more lighting Salt water pool was delightful

This Hotel was the selected Hotel for a COTA race event we attended in March.
The room was small and somewhat outdated. There had been an attempt to upgrade the bathroom, but not very much. For the money, I would never choose this hotel again, but it was somewhat convenient to COTA and would be for travelers who are just staying overnight and flying out the next morning.

Room Tip: Not much selection...you will either be facing the airport or the freeway

I spent 8 nights at the Hilton for business meetings and it's not a bad place - there are plusses and minuses like any hotel.

Location: It is very close, but not walkable, from the airport. There is absolutely nothing whatsoever anywhere nearby - you have to drive/Uber quite a distance to find even a fast-food restaurant. If you value dining or entertainment then you may want to look elsewhere. The free shuttle back and forth to the airport was quick, though they advertise to run every 20 minutes and when I arrived I had to call twice and waited about 45 minutes.

Front Desk: surprisingly I found the front desk staff to be largely indifferent to guests. Over the course of my stay I had several occasions to interact with the staff - morning, noon and night - and, at best, they were clearly not thrilled about being there. Pillow requests were forgotten twice, dry cleaning was misplaced (with a unconcerned shrug), luggage storage was, to put it kindly, unrushed, folio errors were treated as my fault and an inconvenience to staff members who were chatting among themselves.. I expect better from a Hilton and whomever is in charge of the front desk staff should consider addressing the issue of 'hospitality' to guests who have a choice of where to stay.

I found all the other staff - engineering (for lamps - see below) and food & beverage to be very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was accommodating though I had to make a couple of calls when they left me no shampoo two days. I was off-property all day so I'm uncertain of their flexibility in their cleaning schedule if you're a late sleeper.

Rooms: take a look at the circular property's website - there are inside rooms and outside rooms. I had an inside room - facing the atrium - that was a deluxe, or larger room. The good news is that the room was quite large with a sofa (stained & ripped - see attached photo), desk, and very tall ceilings. The bad news is that because it faced inside there is little natural light and the low-wattage lighting made the room like a cave. Engineering kindly brought me two extra floor lamps but it was still spooky-dark 24x7. The hotel should definitely add better lighting to the inside rooms. I did get a look inside a couple of outside rooms and they looked much brighter.
Other than the lighting and dated/damaged upholstered furniture the room was nice and spacious. The desk & chair were comfortable and functional (you may need Engineering to bring you a power strip if you have lots of chargers for laptops/phones/tablets - they were very accommodating when I did). The bathroom was OK - nothing special but clean and well-maintained. I always look for moldy/dirty grout and the Hilton's was spotless.
I was expecting the noise from the airport to be a problem but my room was whisper-quiet (perhaps because I was in an interior room).

I ate room service several nights and breakfast most mornings. The food was OK and restaurant/room-service staff all very nice, a couple remembering me after a few days. The prices are what you would expect for an isolated Hilton. There are a few pizza/Chinese restaurants who will deliver to your room - check Yelp.

There is a pool and outdoor lounging area - it looked quite nice and I would imagine it to be enjoyable in warmer months.

In summary, I would recommend this property for anyone who needs to be near the airport or is just passing thru and needs a bed for one night.

Room Tip: Outside room if you want natural light

We stayed here because it was the nicest hotel near the Formula 1 track south of Austin (Circuit of the Americas). It turned out to be a good choice as it was, indeed, a nice property and conveniently located (especially as we were coming home late from a concert at COTA). It turns out that it also wasn't too out of the way for our forays into Austin for food and fun, and its location allowed us to also avoid much of the IH-35 traffic.

The hotel itself is average for a "business travel Hilton". It has an acceptable restaurant, a bar, a minimal Starbuck's, and it ticks all the boxes. However, this is not a resort or a luxury hotel, nor it is in a location you would choose if you were staying in Austin for more than a day or two, and especially if you are not doing anything associated with COTA.

Hotel Staff Was extremely friendly. Check in / out was a breeze. I stayed with my girlfriend to check out downtown austin and surrounding areas for a weekend. The hotel offered a great place to get some peace, quiet, and rest. Bed was comfortable, Room was clean, and Food was great as well.
