“Best place for a weekend getaway with girlfriends!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2011

Ten college girlfriends and I just spent a long weekend at Travaasa Austin and loved it. We have had an annual reunion almost every summer for the last 15 years, so we've been to quite a few places. This one was perfect for our group -- it was a beautiful location, very nice accomodations and views, excellent food, fabulous pool and spa for times when we wanted to lounge, and great scheduled activities for times when we wanted to be more active. Travaasa is only a five-minute drive to The Oasis -- very fun place to spend an evening watching the sunset and listening to live music. Be sure to do the "challenge course" and zipline - the staff that run it are wonderful. The staff was very accomodating for all our requests, and with that many girls, there were plenty of requests! They even helped us make arrangements to have a car service take us to downtown Austin for dinner so that we could all enjoy the evening without worrying about driving. I highly recommend Travaasa as a great place for a girlfriend getaway!

Room Tip: Top floor rooms have beautiful views and furnished balconies.

My spouse and I had an amazing 3 days of escape from the world. We know there were other people/couples on site, but we rarely saw them. It was not until I was loading to leave that I discovered a couple we had gotten to know was in the room next door.

The staff was on top of everything imaginable. The chef hit a home run with almost every plate served. And Tim (the GM) was a gracious host.

Walking the property was one serene view followed by another, followed by spectacular. My spouse said this was the first time in her life that the statement “Room with view” really meant something.

We are already trying to pull together another visit.

If you are debating, book your trip here!!!I can not even begin to explain what a relaxing and wonderful weekend we had here! EVERY little detail was perfect. From the check in with such a kind welcome, to the beautiful scenery, the gorgeous pool, the super kind staff such as Trish and Drew, wanting to help every way they can, to the amazing spa (Facials with Tracey.. AMAZING!) learning how to play the harmonica with cool Larry, to the reception and getting to meet the store manager, to making lettuce wraps with Chef Benjamin Baker, who by his love of food inspired us to try different foods. and I've never cooked more since we've been home... not to mention how fantastic every meal was there.

Room Tip: The canyon views are worth it. They are green, so the airconditioning is a bit louder, so if you are...

My friends and I booked a 3-day trip to Travaasa resort and spa situated overlooking Lake Travis in Austin. We had the most incredibly restful, relaxing, renewing escape.
The spa treatments were the most relaxing, theraputic services I have ever received from therapists who were so incredibly professional and passionate about their work. The meals provided us with delicious, nutritional choices of gourmet food that featured fresh ingredients prepared to perfection. The exercise classes were challenging and lead by trained professionals. The meditation gardens and infinity pool provided beautiful places to quietly reflect and be refreshed. I went with a lifelong friend, but this is the perfect couples' retreat, corporate meeting place, or the perfect getaway alone to renew your body, soul, and spirit. I can hardly wait for my next visit!

My wife and I took the "Babymoon" package for our first night away from our 2 year old and we could not haven chosen a more appropriate retreat! The facilities are gorgeous, the staff is amazing, and the food is world class. Our room had a great view and was one of the most comfortable beds we have ever experienced. We felt like we had the place to ourselves and could not believe we could experience such tranquility so close to Austin! We are definitely returning in the near future.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a canyon view, it's worth the extra $50

My boyfriend and I came here to relax for the weekend. The place was clean, quiet and very relaxing. The pool was large enough to stay cool in the summer. The views from the pool were amazing. We enjoyed reading and relaxing by the pool in the afternoon. The breakfast buffet was amazing! We did not eat dinner here, as it was expensive and looked just okay. We ventured out and grabbed dinner a few miles away. The service was nice as they offered to bring ice to our room to chill our bottle of champagne while we went to dinner. I received a facial, it was very expensive (about $160 with tax/tip), but it was very refreshing. Not sure if I would pay that much for the same facial again. There is no TV, but we enjoyed sitting outside and reading, even in the summer. There were no bugs! it was nice! I would recommend for a relaxing weekend.

Dear Texasgirl,
It means a great deal to get a review even after several months: you obviously want others to know: thank you. As it's been a year since you came, I think you should try us again, and enjoy the improvements we have put in place......although it's just as beautiful!
Kind regards,

This place is heaven on earth! The staff was AMAZING and always so friendly, helpful and HAPPY! I had the pleasure of meeting Tim (the GM), Victoria (the yoga/meditation instructor), Josh & Courtney (Challenge/Rock wall), Jose (waiter), and many others who made my birthday unforgettable. The room was spacious, very tastefully decorated. Best of all was how eco-friendly this hotel was...the hiking trails offered a chance to connect to nature. The entire place is so spiritual. You cannot go there and not receive anything. I am already counting the days till I'm able to return.

Room Tip: All rooms are wonderful!
