“An adventurous culinary affair”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

We have been to Uchiko's several times and without a doubt it is one of our top 3 favorites in central Texas. This is our go to if we have a special event or have out of town guests (yes there is life after BBQ).

From the fried Brussels Sprouts (our favorite) to the Tobacco flavored desert every thing on the menu is unique and delicious. You wouldn't think it works because of the different combination of flavors and ingredients, but they do. The presentations are wonderful and everything has flair. The portions tend to be smallish but that works very well if you share family style. This is a much more fun and healthier way to eat.

This is known as a sushi restaurant, but the menu has such a variety that even non fish and vegetarians can find plenty to eat.

It's a little pricey but worth it for the food and experience. Reservations are now through there own online system but works well.

Enjoy! You won't be disappointed.

“Lives up to the Hype”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

Fantastic experience at Uchiki and highly recommend. Nearly everything tried was delicious especially some of the specials such as seared Wagyu belly sushi and King Mackeral. Rolls very good too (P-38 and one with Salmon). Also, Brussel sprouts were awesome.

Service was also great - helpful and attentive. We were there for a special occasion and they sent over a free dessert (tobacco cream) which was creative and fairly good (not my favorite combo of flavors.

“Reservation honored...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

We arrived on Friday night for our reservation and were told that our reservation was actually for the next night. Crestfallen, we don't live in Austin, we were told to wait a minute. And then we were seated. Our waitress was Austin cool (although from the north east!) and we took her suggestions on what to order. The beef hot rock was delicious. The onion rings melt in your mouth. The sushi is imaginative and each comes with it's own sauce that is different and delicious. The brussel sprouts are worth a trip back to Austin - as is the fried milk dessert. This restaurant has a sister - Uchi - equally delicious, but we will return to Uchiko because of how we were treated. It's a jewel in every way.

“Thank you Uchiko!!! A myriad of 'afrodisiacs'”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Once again, Uchiko has delivered an extraordinaire gastronomical experience, which my fiancee enjoyed from our first glass of wine (Hexamer), at the bar, and then into our very own chef tasting... We had done this chef tasting before, but discovered that the best selections are notmincluded there.

We have now acomplished tasting the entire menu, and keep going back toma couple of favourites, although this time we ordered the Jar Jar Duck, which was featured on Andrew Zimmers tv show..

I just have to say, thank you, thank you, thank you, Uchiko, for making my woman extra happy and releasing endorphines with your amazing food.
