We arrived at 10:30am and were served at 1:15pm. The outside block long line was filled with lawn chairs for the wait and umbrellas to help shade the 100 degrees summer heat. A waitress sold beer and sodas to those in line. Why do folks do this? Because, without a doubt, Franklin serves the very best barbecue in the world. The smoked beef brisket, sausage and pork ribs are to die for - so tender, extra juicy and tastefully seasoned. The 3 sides and 4 deserts are deliciously fresh. The owners gladly serve you with huge portions. People from all over the country who know great BBQ travel to Austin just to try Franklin's. It's our third visit and, crazy or not, we will gladly stand outside again in a two and one-half hour line for the best.
