“Beautiful and great people watching in the heart of Austin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2012

Miles and miles of trails, boat rentals, bats, Barton Springs, ... I think every Austinite loves to come here and nearby Zilker Park.

“Kayaking and bats, what more could a girl ask for.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2012

Two of the must-do things in Austin, TX are on Town Lake. The kayaking is a lot of fun, and they even let us bring our pug dog on board (despite no dogs signs). We had a blast, and the pup got to swim after ducks in clean water (being from Houston, were not used to clean water). The employees at the kayaking stand were really nice. The bats at dusk are a must-see as well, and are well worth the wait. There is no determined time to see the bats - you just show up and wait on the bridge until they come out. There is a hotline number you can call to see the "expected" arrival time of bats, but again, it's at your own risk.

“Austin.”

Best mid-week; wish the aggressive bikers would take their problems elsewhere and quit running down little kids.

“Rent bikes and enjoy the views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2012

We rented bikes (Barton Springs Bikes) and rode along the trail, taking in the off leash dogs playing, people watching (lots of runners and walkers), folks rowing crew on the lake and such. The trail gets really busy on mild sunny weekends, so be advised that there's some dodging of traffic to deal with.
