“Run to your heart's delight--the trail is awesome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2011

Running from the MoPac Bridge to the statue of Stevie Ray is a journey that would delight any runner or jogger. The paths are beautiful, terrain changes for the more adventurous, but an easy course nevertheless. The afternoons are hot, the mornings muggy, but the runs in the Fall can't be beat.

“Great for Paddleboarding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2011

We went stand-up paddleboarding on Ladybird Lake(Town Lake). It was our first time trying it. They gave a quick instruction and we were on our way. The company was called Paddle Zen. I believe it was $15 per hour, they take credit cards, and will watch over your shoes and stuff. You can go into the store front or go down by the water behind the store front and rent them down there when the storefront isn't open. Good workout and relaxing at the same time.
There are also lots of trails for running, walking, and biking. There are lots of kayakers on the water as well. We went on a Sunday morning.

“Expansive park, great trails, excellent views of Austin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2011

The hike and bike trails around Austin are great for any runners, walkers, bikers or sight-seers. They can be rather crowded on beautiful sunny days, but there is still plenty of space. The paths are slightly wooded which provides some relief from the hot summer days. There are many benches to stop and relax and also water fountains for people and their pets. The paths are well maintained.

“Best place for runners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2008

Austin has a large population of runners and Town Lake (now known as Lady Bird Lake) is the most popular running spot downtown and is just a walk away from all of the downtown hotels. With relatively flat, well maintained 3, 4, 5, 7 and 10 mile loops, this running trail is great for all runners. The local running store, RunTex, sets out ice-cold water jugs, at two locations along the trail, for all to enjoy. The trail is most crowded on Saturday and Sunday mornings and after work on weekdays during the cool spring. Summer afternoon heat in Austin can be brutal, so be warned.

Out and Back Distances are approximate:
3 miles: Mopac to Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge Crossing
4 miles: Mopac to First Street Bridge
5 miles: Mopac to Congress Ave Bridge (Bat Bridge)
7 miles: Mopac to I-35 Bridge
10 miles: Mopac to Longhorn Dam
