“Top notch resort...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Even though this is for a business trip, the resort is simply fabulous.. Room is neat and clean with comfortable beds and pillows. Slept like a baby...

The lobby to room though is a short walk, but you may get lost for the first time.
Food in the restaurant is top notch with a wide variety of selection which include smoke salmon.. Very European!

There is a spa and golf course which I did not get to use.
The conference facility is top notch too.

I recently stayed here for one night on a business trip. We arrived after dark so we did not get the full effect of the beautiful property until the following morning. It is a very large, picturesque resort. Due to the size of the resort it is obvious that they have added sections to the hotel over time and the hallways have strange angles and seem to be pieced together. If you have a higher room number, you will be in for quite a walk from check-in. My room also opened to the loading docks for delivery trucks that came all morning, starting at 4am with back-up beep signals activated. The room was large and well appointed. The dining is all on the lower level (below lobby level) and difficult to find. Breakfast buffet had a variety options for a good price.

To all the Event Planners and Conference planners out there...this property is as close to perfect as you can get but be sure to negotiate free water in the rooms & free internet in sleeping rooms AND meeting spaces. The food is wonderful, the staff is top notch and property is convenient to get to and beautiful.

We recently stayed at the Barton Creek Resort for my birthday weekend. This is our 5th time to this property and it never disappoints. The rooms are spacious with pretty views of the property and the pretty community around. At dusk the deer come out on the golf course and for us city dwellers it is always relaxing to see. The staff is nice and cater to your every need. If you looking for a quiet weekend away, I highly recommend this hotel! Also have breakfast downstairs it's excellent!!!

Thank you for choosing to celebrate your birthday at Barton Creek! We appreciate your recommendation and your return visits (and I can't help but agree that our breakfast downstairs at Hill Country Dining Room is excellent!)

This hotel is OLD and has its issues. The room was large, but not very nice. The bed was old and not comfortable. 2 nights they were having trouble with some "water penetration alarm" (??) that beeped loudly for hours in the middle of the night (in the halls). And there isn't a very dramatic or large lobby area or pool area. Maybe great for golfers, but as a get-away with your spouse, I would say look elsewhere.

I'm sorry to hear the issues you experienced during your stay and we will take your feedback into account as we continuously make upgrades to optimize the guest experience. We recently upgraded our fire safety systems and had an unforeseen device failure in a separate building from the resort. We've moved forward to make improvements to this new system quickly to ensure we avoid a similar occurrence.

My husband and I were there for our Son's wedding reception and stayed there at the resort. It was fantastic. Beautiful grounds, very clean rooms, comfortable beds, and great staff....Overall it was wonderful and would recommend it to anyone for just a get a way or for anything else. The Hopkins/Mullanix wedding reception was outstanding. Very well organized and food was delicious. We had a fabulous time!

Room Tip: We paid an upgrade for the 5th floor and so glad we did...The view was amazing.

Just returned from a five day golf trip. Truly a great time. The service is on par if not better than any luxury hotel. The golf courses are in great shape despite the hot dry summer. The hotel sits in a "canyon" (at least the Texas Hill Country equivalent) and offers a spectacular setting with great views of trees, hills, and wildlife (lots of deer). Exercise facility offers equipment, free weights, an indoor track, and indoor pool. I didn't experience the newly renovated spa but I've heard the service is amazing. The outdoor pool really isn't much to speak of-- rather small and a basic pool. The staff said they've looked into expanding it but because the hotel sits on an aquifer, they aren't able to increase the footprint. The food was great if not a bit pricey but that's what you expect at a resort.

Room Tip: Ask to stay at a higher floor as they have the best views.
