“Expensive but you get what you pay for”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

Ok, so the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin is very expensive. The rooms are very nice, but really do not justify that level of cost. But, where else can you find an entire staff who can't wait to fulfill your every need and want. This is a culture of hospitality at the highest level. Me, I am just a guy, but my wife just transforms the second she walks in there and happy wife- happy life. Tough to put a price on that.Plus I also like the way the come across with any request. So going in, I consider the cost too high, coming out I figure it was worth every penny.

It's a little troubling to know that other guests are enjoying a significantly lower rate. After consulting a local resident, I was told the Four Seasons would be the best fit for my stay. I booked 4 nights during the Austin City Music Festival, I was quoted a rate of $709 with the 3rd night complimentary. As a regular patron of high-end hotels, I was completely disappointed with The Four Seasons-Austin. The bathroom was tiny and very basic, no drawer for toiletries and a small vanity. The tile seemed really cheap, the wallpaper and bathroom door was dingy and worn in with dirt. The room was so incredibly small, it couldn't safely accommodate a rollaway without completely obstructing access to the balcony. After commenting to the manager about the room size and lack of amenities promised to me, I will say he was very agreeable in making things better by offering to upgrade to a suite on our last night and lowering my room rate. After touring the city, I definitely would not stay at this hotel again. The staff was fantastic, the food was great and the view was pretty but the room was completely lacking.

Room Tip: Do not get a balcony corner room

Dear Jenny,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review following your Austin City Limits experience at the hotel. I was happy to hear you were impressed with the staff, view and food, but sorry that our rooms and bathrooms didn't meet the same high expectations. I can share that we are in the midst of finalizing our design for a bathroom renovation in 2014 that will make the area much more functional and spacious; our restaurant and 291 rooms will be getting a refresh in 2014 as well.
Feedback like yours has been instrumental in the planning process for our upcoming enhancements, so I appreciate you taking the time to provide your insight. I sincerely hope you will reconsider visiting us again during next year's ACL and I look forward to showing you and all of our guests the new, improved Four Seasons Hotel Austin.
Sincerely,
Rob Hagelberg

I can't say enough about The Four Seasons Austin. The rooms. The food. The service. Every single aspect of our stay was perfection. We had alot of "unusual" requests. They helped with every single one. There was not a detail overlooked. It's also the best place in Austin to meet friends for drinks or dinner!

Rated the #1 hotel in Austin, this property although quite good, does not quite live up to the high standards of other Four Seasons I have stayed in. But, the location is superb, within walking distance of downtown and the lively SoCo district. The rooms are on the smaller side and suggest a business traveler clientele.

The concierge service desk is excellent. As a newcomer to Austin, the personnel were helpful, engaging, and quite knowledgeable. Use them.

A word of caution, the shower tub is quite slippery.

We have been visiting this hotel since the early 80's and never been disappointed .We have brought our children when they were young,as teenagers and put them up there on special occasions when they were students at UT and the visits have all succeed. The service and all personnel are first class. The facility is beautiful with an ideal location. The bar is especially festive and always hopping. This year all the ladies had hats on during the Kentucky Derby.Great hotel, great memories.

Stayed here while visiting daughter who goes to UT. It's not te closest hotel to the campus, but we weren't going to be walking, anyway. The staff was incredible, starting with the reservations staff to the bell staff, as well as restaurant and spa staff. Rooms are a bit on the small size, but those Four Seasons beds are so comfortable. Hotel is pretty close to Rainey or 6th Street, so its convenient to go out. Location is right on the lake, great for a run or to rent a kayak or canoe for an hour or 2. Pool area is also great. I'm always annoyed to pay for internet, but unfortunately, the luxury hotels all do it. Overall, they know how a guest is supposed to be treated, and if this hotel can fit within your budget, you should stay here
