“What a wonderful park!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

We walked down from the North Lamar area, and crossed the pedestrian bridge to access the park. We enjoyed the various paths, and really appreciated seeing the public out enjoying their environment. We saw crew teams, dogs playing in the water, swimmers, people on pedal-boats... all just out having a nice day. We ended up coming back at the end of the day via the Congress Avenue Bridge to see the bats at sunset. The park is lovely, and it is one of the many amenities that make Austin a world class city.

“An Austin Bucket-List Item”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2014

I've gone on different portions of the trail for years. Even after living here for nearly 30 years, I always get a feeling of, "I love living in Austin" when I'm on the trail. If you want to know what Austin's all about (apart from the music I guess), walk around the lake.

“Get out on the water”

Rent a kayak to really enjoy the lake and surrounding beauty. The ducks and turtles make this a real treat.

“Town Lake has a great walking/running trail right along the river”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Austin has always kept a green area along both sides of the Colorado River that runs through downtown. It's dammed up so I guess it's a lake. It's a great place to go walking or running. It can get crowded as thousands of people like to go down. Parking can be a problem, but on the weekends, you can park at Austin High School and walk across the street to the trail that makes a complete loop around the river. You can cross different bridges depending on how long you want to walk or fun.
