My family and I checked in today only to check out a little bit later. It is plainly stated on signs around the hotel that they are under construction, but I was never told this when booking. We have a 10 month old and don't ask for a lot... just that it is a clean, nice space.

When we entered the room it smelled like it had just been painted. Not necessarily a bad thing, but there was still newspaper in the closet area to protect the rug. It was sparsely furnished and the stuff in there looked to be part of the 'old' they were in the process of making 'new'.

To top it all off, there were bare wires sticking out of the wall... a no no with the little one.

They were nice enough to let us leave and didn't charge us. I can't say the service was bad... just the room itself.

I stayed at this facility January 21 and 22nd, 2007. The hotel is clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The contenental breakfast is better than most to include hot waffles.
A Denny's restaurant is located next door for a full breakfast if needed.
The best part of this hotel is its location. For anyone who has business in downtown Austin or wants to see the attractions downtown this is the place to stay. You merely take Riverside Drive west of the hotel to Congress Ave and turn right and you are downtown!!
I would definitely stay at this facility again. Clean and quiet.

Traveling with a pet can be challenging, but La Quinta makes it much easier. They are very pet friendly, and do not charge for them. The room (a suite) was roomy and very nice and clean. The only complaint we had was that the hot tub was only lukewarm. Other than that, I would highly reccomend this one.

The first room that they gave us had cookie crumbs all over the floor. After requesting a different room, the second one was cleaner. The bed was really comfortable. Unfortunately, the A/C unit was noisy. The hotel rooms feel older than they are, but the public areas are kept quite nice. We travel quite a bit but have never run across noisier toilets than these. You can hear your neighbors' toilets, too. We would not stay here again.
