“do not stay here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

people were partying and shouting and screaming until 5 am both Friday and saturday nights. The night manager said this is what happens here put up with it. I got no sleep first night and even with earplugs 2nd night could still hear them. They set o the fire alarm and extinquisher foam all over steps security did very little. What sort of hotel says that it's guests should expect not to sleep. Disgraceful DO NOT STAY THERE.

Room Tip: just do not stay here

The room was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and-- for a woman traveling alone--it felt safe. The room was nothing special, and I thought it was somewhat overpriced for the quality of accommodations, but I would stay there again.

This hotel has a great location! Half a block from the Capitol, a few blocks from 6th Street and the UT campus. Hotel is old but rooms are nice... Very comfortable beds! A/C had some kinks and so did the toilet (had to jiggle the handle to get the tank to fill after each flush); also, bathroom door was hard to close & didnt have a lock or any type of latch. Continental breakfast was sparse, mandatory valet parking, pool not heated, but friendly staff... especially the valets. Location made up for the negatives. I would stay here again.

Great place to stay when in Austin, clean and comfortable with an unbeatable location. Easy to get to great palces to east like Annie's Cafe. Capitol grounds are very nice and an easy walk, lots of music options all on all a great value.

you get what you pay for, but it's a block from the Capitol so you'd think it would be nicer. There was a sanitary sticker form a swimsuit on the mirror when I arrived. The walls are paper thin, so I heard my neighbor getting after it. The shower was mildewed, the sheets stunk of smoke. The parking is stupid, and the car service employees were very rude.

The rates and the location of this hotel are wonderful. The matteress was amazingly comfortable. The staff helpfulwhen they could be. There are no food options, other than a sparce breakfast, provided by the hotel. There is a menu in the room through the "Order Inn" folks, Lasagna was delivered, ended up costing over $25...for one, No flatware was provided, No bread for the butter. Bad experience, Ants in the room. Reported the first night, they said they would send someone in to spray. Worse second night, Closest restaurant is ,2 miles away, Not a bad walk there...downhill all the way. Seriously uphill coming back.... No business center. Internet was slow, slow, slow!! Printer is supposedly available for printing boarding passes. Didn't work. Finally, clerk printed it for me from her computer. Very frustrating. No snack machines that I could find.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the capitol...nighttime view really is wonderful!
