“View from the Bridge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

This is kindof a "must see" in Austin. It is pretty cool when all the bats come swarming out from under the Bridge. My recommendation would be to view them from the bridge not the boats. You may miss a bit of the view but you won't be a captive audience on the boat. When I went, the bats were 35 minutes "late" and there was nothing really to do but sit on the boat and wait.

“Great Bat Show!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

I recommend seeing the bat show. It's starts around sun down, for us that was 7:30 pm but it varys each evening so arrive early. Thousands of bats take flight and head into the night for a feast of insects. Parking is free at the Austin American-Statesman newspaper parking lot (they have a sign and special bat parking area), they also provide a nice grassy area so you can watch the bats emerge. Very educational and a marvel to behold.

The bats are super neat to watch............... Thousands of them!!
foot traffic on and near the bridge was very crowded, so be careful driving or walking. This is a MUST see when you go to Austin!!!!!!

“Wow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

Got to the bridge just in time to see them emerge. We didn't have a perfect spot but the most amazing part was seeing the cloud of bats heading out in the distance. A must see!
