My wife and I have stayed here on several occasions. Have read some of the disparaging comments and feel sorry for those travelers that failed to enjoy themselves. Recommend anyone heading to Austin (or anywhere for that matter) to ensure they read up on the locale and communicate with the B&B Proprietor to get a good idea of what they are in for. Having lived abroad this is one of the best places to stay and reminds of many of the gems my wife enjoyed while overseas. Walking distance to all of downtown Austin, you can bring bikes, even a pet if you coordinate ahead of time and the pool/yard/rooms are a great place to simply veg, relax and meditate. Hats off to Shakti and her band of trusty helpers...will always try to stay here when back in Austin.

Room Tip: Always call to see if they can hook you up with a deal...chances are they will surprise you. ACL an...

I hated my stay at this place. It was awful! I can't believe that I spent all this money to have to deal with bed bugs of all things! What a scam! I hope no one has to go through this. Please, i am warning all! DO NOT GO HERE! IT IS AN AWFUL ESTABLISHMENT! Plus, I was not to keen of the hair in my breakfast either! Please, do not go here!

Not enjoying your stay, well that sometimes but rarely happens at Park Lane as is reflected by the rave reviews posted by so many of our wonderful guests. We are onsite daily to ensure that each guest has the personal service and attention that make us unique. We encourage our guests to share candid constructive feedback but not slander. Our care and standards are of utmost importance so we are surprised to see are review from a stay back in January posted in July?

We stayed at the room in the house rather than the cottages. The cottages were very nice but just a little more expensive and we were on a budget. The room and the shared sitting rooms are nicely decorated, warm and inviting. The host was very helpful and informative and worked around our schedule for coming and going. The location in the 'SoCo' area of Austin couldn't have been better. There is lots of activity but much of it is locals and it didn't feel touristy. The main strip several blocks from the hotel had lots of interesting places to shop, some great restaurants, a dance bar as well as quite a few of the Austin-type outdoor truck eateries. Much nicer than staying near 6th street in the City, which, while entertaining, was quite a zoo.

My husband and I stayed in the Garden cottage during the weekend of Austin City Limits Music Festival. It was such a perfect fit for the weekend and we enjoyed it so much. The cottage was so welcoming and comfortable - it gave us the peace we needed after full days at ACL. Breakfast each morning from Shakti was amazing - especially the frittata and the pumpkin bread. I love the 'green' approach they have to running the guest houses and am eager to stay again on our next trip to Austin!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for ACL. Due to a cancellation we were able to stay in the 'Vicky'. Perfect size for the two of us. Extremely comfortable king bed. Organic coffee to make in the room and delicious organic breakfasts brought to us each morning! Shakti and Devkirn were wonderful hosts. Gave us great information on Austin. Beautiful outdoor pool/lounge area. Park Lane is w/in walking distance to South Congress and easy access to downtown! We will definitely stay here again when we are back in Austin!!

Felt like an unwanted distant relative there for a visit. If you smoke don't go near this place. If you like vegan food you'll loveit. If your just an average Texan, you'll feel like you paid to be punished.

Making our guests feel welcome and comfortable is our primary goal, and so I'm very disappointed to read you felt punished rather than taken care of during your stay with us a few years ago. We're a member of the Green Hotels Association not only because we believe that running a green business is part of our responsibility to the planet, but also because we believe that our efforts to be environmentally friendly improve the quality of a guest's stay. Everything that we do to that effect, from the home-cooked vegetarian breakfasts to the organic mattresses, is done with your well being in mind. That being said, we're always striving to do better by you and by the planet, and we welcome your input. Please let us know if you have any feedback as to how we might've made your stay with us more inviting. We'd welcome you to stay with us again anytime.

Be well,
Shatki,

I can't say enough about how wonderful my stay was here at the Park Lane Guest House. Charming, quaint, warm & welcoming. Steps away from local dining and entertainment but nestled just far enough off the beaten path to not be worn! I now stay there every time I visit Austin...
