I went to BJ With my girlfriends on Saturday for a girlfriends night out. It was the first time I've ever been there, and we were celebrating one of our birthdays. Being a weekend night (and the one before labor day) the place was crowded, and we had to wait for like 30 min but we chatted and the time passed quicky. They gave us a great big corner booth, very comfortable and clean. I ordered their peach something, it was delicious but not too full of alcohol, so I wasn't woozy...it still cost $8, so maybe cut down on the price a little or raise the alcohol level?
I ordered the grilled steak salad which was absolutely delicious: a cut of skirt steak, marinated and grilled to your order ( I like mine med well but it came out a little too pink. It was still delish so I ate it and don't regret it) on a bed of fresh baby greens with grilled squash and grilled marinated red onions. It was fantastic, but the portion was pretty small (remember, this was dinner and the steak salad cost $14.).
My friend ordered the hamburgers, and it didn't come in a bun but between two slices of grilled bread. She took one bite and realized there were mushrooms in it, which wasn't on the menu. She got the waitress who ologozed and promised to bring her a new one, but it took a really long time (the rest of us were done with our meal by the time hers came out, and she asked for onion rings instead of fries and of course got fries....) the waitress brought put a plate of onion rings and comped her meal.
The next day I came back with my family Nd had their Thai chicken mango salad which was also delicious, and this time I tried the pomegranate drink. It was very refreshing but also $8 with very little alcohol.
All in all- good food, everyone was happy, but the prices are a little steep for the portion sizes. Service was ok, not great.
Also, the place is a big ol sports bar, so very noisy....
