“Very friendly staff, clean hotel, great breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2011

I stay here several times a year. It's convenient for my meetings and very close to the airport. Check in has always been efficient. Room has always been clean. Breakfast is great. Hotel has their own bar too (we usually go next door, although everything seems to close down by 10:00). The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Business center good for printing off a boarding pass.

Room Tip: Suggest getting a room facing the parking lot versus the highway/Six Flags.

My wife and I came to town for a conference of mine. We are staying for 3 nights. We chose to stay here because we have stayed at other HGI locations and had good experiences. This one seems to be alot noisier/busier than we are used to. I'm guessing its all of the families coming and going for Six Flags/Rangers Games/Hurricane Harbor. The first day, nobody came to replenish towels. Last night we exited the elevator to find a man in his 50's in the hallway with no pants on standing with the maintenance man. As we got nearer, we smelled something similar to a dirty diaper. Come to find out, he was so drunk, he had diahrea and took his pants off and was trying to get into a room that was not his. The entire hallway smelled terrible all night. Try explaining that situation to kids. When I went down to the front desk to ask about the situation, the clerk was very reluctant to talk about it. I would have called the cops. Can you say Public Intoxication and Indecent exposure? I told her they needed to bring some air freshener up and that never happened. Walls seem thin and you can hear everything going on around you. Probably wont stay at this particular location again.

My wife and I stayed here while we visited family and attended a Texas Rangers game. The location is great and easy to get to. It is within walking distance to a few restaurants and the hotel is very clean. The only complaints are some problems checking in and our king bed was extremely firm - I mean very firm. Because of the location close to the Rangers ballpark and Six Flags, it tends to get a little noisy at the pool and in the hallways with a lot of families and those that may have had a few too many adult beverages. Given a choice I might try someplace else next time but I would not be afraid to stay here again if necessary. One thing I wish the Garden Inns had were larger rooms.

The hotel is located just a few blocks from Fiesta Texas. Room are nice and clean. Lobby is welcoming. Pool is a good place to hang out with the kids but it is hard to get sun if you go during the late afternoon building structure blocks the sun. Good restaurants just a few feet away from the hotel. Beds are confortable enough but not the best. It was a pleasant stay.

The hotel was clean and very nice. The bed was extremely hard but the pillows were good. The bar was not open at night because so many staff had called in sick. Well, at least that is what we were told by the one staff on duty at the counter. (Memorial Day weekend - Sat night) Check-in was a breeze, everything was nice. Hallways were extremely warm, as well as elevator. My main complaint was the hard bed. Need sleep number or pillowtop mattresses. Stayed at Hyatt Place down the street two weeks prior to this trip and it was AAA and $40 bucks less. Beds were aweoms at Hyatt Place.

I have stayed at 10 different HGIs this year, and would consider this property as on par with the best locations for condition and upkeep, and overall "feel" of the property. Great common/restaurant area that you expect, clean rooms.

The negatives here come with things that cannot be changed by the property operator, but are often important to the frequent traveller. Namely: ventilation unit A/C compressor is like an aircraft engine in the room; water pressure in the shower was hands down the worst of any hotel I've stayed at this year, including inferior brands; thin walls/floors where I could hear the above-mentioned drone of my neighbor's AC when mine was not on. This is all by design/cost of the materials or equipment selected. Not sure why Hilton doesn't tighten up their construction/engineering specs in some of these areas.
