We recently took our Youth Group to Six Flags. Oh My Goodness, what a dump. I cannot believe how the park has just gone to the dogs. I am trying to be nice, but the truth is the truth.
The parking is rediculous, but we did get "preferred" parking and the $20.00 was worth it to us. Plus, they did give us a sun visor for our vehicle.
We pre-purchased our tickets for $25.99 each, and that was a good price.
The food was often cold and dry especially at Papa John's. Many of the kids in Papa John's were doing more horseplaying than working. That was a bit annoying since there was a line of people waiting, and they were not serving anyone. The food had been cooked and was just sitting out getting, cold, hard and old.
The souvenier cup drinks are $14.99 plus tax now. You can get free refills all day on the day you purchase the bottle, after the purchase date you can get refills for 99cents. Most of the coke products were watered down so that they were undrinkable.
Other items we purchased that should have been better: Funnel Cake for 7.99 plus tax. We could not eat it all because it was cooked in old grease and was just plain nasty.
Turkey Leg for $7.99 plus tax. It was good. But the server had an attitude. Do not ask them for change for $1.00, they cannot do that!
My daughter purchased a burger basket for about 10 bucks, she took it back because it was cold, they exchanged it for another cold burger basket.
Rides: Long lines, stinky trash cans, park was too cheap to even turn the fans on while people were waiting in 100degree Texas heat.
The park needs a good cleaning including the inside ceilings. They are still in need of a paint job. We use to take our children and even purchased season passes back in the day, so it is disappointing to see how the park has gone down so. The sad thing is that from reading these reviews, it looks like this has been going on for quite a while, and they are not even trying to clean up the park.
Oh yeah, the water in the park and the water rides.
The pond with the fish was very murky, we felt sorry for the fish in that cess pool. The water was beyond dirty, it is hard to belive that the fish are able to survive in that mess. It looks like a toxic waste dump. If I ever saw one.
Who in their right mind would get on those water rides with the brown water? When we use to come back in the 90's, the water was green and decent looking. Before that when we came in the 80's the water was blue.
My overall opinion: Six Flags is a hot mess!
It reminds me of Crustyland on the Simpsons.
If you cannot afford to go to a real park where they are trying to keep the place up and put customer service first, save your money up until you can. Do not waste it on 6 Flags until they clean up their act/park!
