5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2010

Very BIG and beautiful suite, very friendly staff, great breakfast, there is plenty of shopping, and restraunts near by. Definitley will be suggesting this Hotel to friend's, and family. Can't wait to come back, and I am planning to very soon.

I stayed for 3 nights this past week. New hotel ( october 09) with a very nice finish out. Plenty of dinning options near by, and a great social hour. Please note while not a 5 star hotel in the true sense, for what you pay it's a terrific value.

I am part owner of a small business located in south Arlington. We have clients and students who come to train on a fairly frequent basis, and so I keep a list of nearby hotel properties in this area that cater to business travelers. I personally tour any property and meet the management before I consider telling my clients about it. We recommend this Residence Inn because of the incredible value and location. This is a brand new Marriott property, located between the Parks Mall and Highlands Shopping area on Highlander Blvd. It is decorated beautifully, and has too many amenities to list. The Junior King Suites have kitchenettes that are equipped with microwave, fridge and cooking utensils. The bedrooms have sitting areas with a sofa sleeper, and a large screen TV that swivels toward any area of the room. Free breakfast, free evening reception, free wireless internet, free parking, free shuttle, exercise room, small indoor pool, courtyard with grill, coin laundry, etc., etc., etc. This location is great for shopping and dining, and not too far from area attractions.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2010

Have stayed in this almost-new Residence Inn several times in the last few months, and really love its convenient suburban location with plenty of restaurants, stores, and entertainment options nearby. I’ve been a fan of Residence Inns for years with their comfortable home-like surroundings and especially the full kitchens, but this one is a notch above all the older ones with it being so new.

PROS:
- Very quiet rooms. Never heard any noise from other rooms, so they apparently did a good job with sound-roofing during construction.
- Super fast wired and wireless Internet.
- 37” flat screen TV with numerous HD channels.
- Full kitchen with stainless steel cook top, dishwasher, and full-size refrigerator with icemaker (only thing missing is a conventional oven).
- Very comfortable bed and pillows
- Daily hot breakfast in lobby with plenty of choices (including sausage, eggs, home fries, toast, bagels, English muffins, oatmeal, cold cereals) that change somewhat from day-to-day.
- Nicely equipped exercise room with a couple of treadmills, eliptical, and bench with free weights, plus an indoor pool and hot tub. Took advantage of a treadmill one weekend with a small flat screen TV.

CONS:
- In-room thermostat seems to have a mind of its own. You can set it to a temp, then it either stays where it was or goes a few degrees past the temp that you set. It also has an “EcoMode”, which I’ve tried too, but it makes no difference.
- Proximity key card failed to access an exterior door one evening, but the clerk on duty quickly reprogrammed my card and I had no issues after that.
- On a previous stay in January, I came back to my top-floor room after a day of heavy rain and found water dripping onto the dining table from a light fixture. I called the front desk and they sent an employee up with a new key to an adjacent room which was nice and dry, so I moved into it. Apparently, the hotel is still so new, they are still working through a few roof leak issues.

I have been on an extended stay at this hotel while my spouse is here on business. The facility itself is fabulous, and the staff is friendly and responsive to every request. The great breakfast and light dinner make this hotel a great value in comparison to the competition. Everything you need is either at the hotel or nearby, including dining, shopping, medical, and entertainment. A recent record-setting snowfall and the NBA All-Star crowd let the staff showcase their true prefessionalism! The hotel is new and is experiencing the expected "growing pains" on occasion. However, the management is quick to recognize problems and remedy them ASAP. Overall, this hotel is a five-star in its category! Highly recommend, especially to business travelers!

New hotel! Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Great free breakfast buffet. Located off Hwy 20 near restaurants and Arlington Highlands shopping area. Decor is cheery and uplifting, not drab and dull. Will stay there again soon!
