Candlewood Suites is definitely a great place, in many ways! We planned our trip to SIx Flags (2 moms and 3 boys) and decided to stay here because of the location and price. We got two suites and when I did the original booking, the wrong type of suite was booked for me and the manager did a GREAT job of accommodating us to the right type of room. Not only that, the rate was very good for what we got. Another great thing we found is the location. We were a mile from Six Flags, but this hotel is off the beaten path and not on the major freeways or streets, so it was very quiet, which is SO nice after being around TONS of crowds for 12 hours straight!
Another HUGE bonus for us was the free shuttle that picked us up at the hotel and dropped us off at Six Flags. We were one of the first stops and by the time we got to the second stop (The Hilton) the bus was completely full and so the rest of the hotels along the way had to wait an additional 30 minutes for the next shuttle. I was SO glad we didn't stay at any of those other places! Since the shuttles stop running at 10 PM, we had to use another form of transportation to get back to the hotel, since we were attending a concert there that ended at 11 PM, so the hotel gave us a card for a taxi service that was FABULOUS! We got to ride in a Lincoln Towncar for about the same price as a regular old taxi, but was much nicer, and she was there within 5 minutes of calling, which was great since we were all SO tired!
On our way back to the hotel today from Six Flags, the shuttle driver said we picked the BEST hotel in the area because of the location and the quiet street it's on. He said, "believe me, I know", and he certainly did because we got to see several of the other places on the ride back from Six Flags, and while they were all nice, they were right off the freeway or feeder roads.
We will most definitely stay here the next time we go to Six Flags. In fact, my friend already booked her next stay for a couple of weeks when she goes on a family trip there. The staff were all really, really helpful and nice, and we requested a late check-out, which they allowed, but ended up not using. Also, my bed was REALLY comfy, with soft sheets and a down pillow. A great place for families or professionals. They have a work out facility and a convenience store where you use the "honor" system. This really helped us, because we bought our water bottles from there at a reasonable price instead of buying the expensive ones from Six Flags.
