We will never stay at another La Quinta anywhere after they raised their price $41 on a holiday weekend when a convention was in town and told us that was why they raised it. All the reasonable motels had only smoking rooms or single beds available so we were forced to stay at La Quinta. The other motels were not raising their prices. We had stayed at another motel in Amarillo three weeks earlier that was a suite and so much nicer for $27 less than what we had to pay at the La Quinta. When we took showers at the La Quinta, we all noticed that the water smelled like sewer water and the bottom of the tub was brown. It was not even worth the regular price, and especially not worth the price they were charging for convention weekend.

I have stayed at this hotel now three times over the past four years and find the accomodations and the staff good. They have a wonderful breakfast and probably one of the best prices in town. Will definitely stay here every time I pass through.

After reading the previous review, we were a little nervous concerning our stary at the La Quinta Airport. We are members of the LaQuinta rewards program, and stay at them pretty frequently. Maybe we have low expectations, but we rarely have any problems with them. I guess we aren't expecting the Ritz for our $50.

Check in was a breeze, and our room was clean. It appears that all of the LaQuinta rooms have been renovated, because each of the hotels had almost identical new looking decor. Each of the three also appeared to have been newly painted, with nice new looking furniture. Each was equipted with wireless internet as well - I'm so glad that has been added!
They always have a nice closet with iron and ironing board, and the bathroom was small but perfectly adequate.

Breakfast was typical with the cereals, muffins, bagels, make your own waffles (ymmm) and they also had boiled eggs and yogurt.

We did not find the LaQuinta Airport in Amarillo to be noisy (it IS located next to the interstate and to a Denny's) but we didn't find people going through the parking lot at all hours, and didn't hear the interstate during the evening at all, even though we were near the front of the hotel.

We stayed for four nights, and just didn't have the problems that the previous review listed. I have no problems recommending this hotel

Terrible, terrible, terrible. The property adjoins a Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Denny's. Sounds great for easy access to eats, until you find out the hotel's parking lot serves as throughfare for traffic from a major road heading to those places. And the cars at the Taco Bell with the super-loud bass drivers will cause things in your room to shake. The noise of all of the trucks on I-40, a major cross-country interstate, makes it seem like you're sleeping on a highway median. And with the paper-thin walls you'll be privy to your neighbors conversations, fights, lovemaking, and as I heard last night - at least two infants screaming bloody murder about every two hours overnight. Add to that car alarms going off at 2-4 AM because of all the drunks with the munchies coming and going from Denny's - a VERY unrestful place to stay. Like to watch some TV to unwind? Unless you're into news channels, forget it. Out of about 12 stations I get that a viewable, you get all the news channels - CNN, CNBC, Headline News, Weather Channel, Fox News, etc. This hotel does not offer free in-room highspeed internet - but others of this quality in the area DO - the Quality Inn, Days Inn, to name just two. Also, the Quality Inn offers a complimentary HOT breakfast buffet - La Quinta only offer the tired, continental breakfast of stale pastries and coffee. For a few dollars more, it's a VERY good investment to avoid this La Quinta.
