“Not Perfect, but Perfectly Fine”

As some other reviewers have noted, this hotel appears somewhat dated. It's not bad, but a modest freshening woud help.

The bedrooms are large, while the bathrooms are small. The worst aspect was the powerful disinfectant odor throughout the hotel. (But you get used to that after awhile.) The location was convenient to I-40 and to area restaurants. The staff was helpful and friendly. Parking was abundant, but the lot was full of huge potholes. It was nice having an indoor pool and spa.

In summary, this is a good if not great hotel and is a good choice if the price is right.

When purchasing our cleaning products, we are cognicent of selecting products with low to no odor to them as we know many guests are sensitive to different scents. This hotel has an amazing staff. Great location just off the highway. The hotel is somewhat dated, but it has a gorgeous atrium. The breakfast is nice and the indoor pool is beautiful. The beds are comfortable and the location is quiet. No complaints, the staff was courteous and friendly.

The service was fantastic during my stay. The breakfast was very good and there was a lot of variety. My only complaint was that my rooms mattress was very dated.

The hotel is older, but the inside was very nice and had a lot of character.

We stayed here on Mother's Day weekend. There was a promotion going on for special goodies for mom but we didn't ever see any such thing. Also, the hotel's boilers broke during our stay. We did not have any hot water in our room. However, the hotel as a whole was quite nice. The kids loved playing in the pool, and we enjoyed the breakfast as well.

Thank you for providing feedback regarding your stay at the hotel. We did encounter a maintenance issue with our boiler system during the Mother’s Day weekend. It was unfortunate and although our engineering department conducts a strict preventative maintenance schedule, we can never predict these types of situations. As you know our maintenance team was able to rectify the situation in an expedite manner and return the system back to working order in no time at all. We do know this caused a brief time of inconvenience and that we apologize for. As you mentioned we did have a Mothers Day promotion if the Mother’s Day Promotional Package was booked. Those guests that booked that package received gourmet goodies, flowers and an assortment of other items. We look forward to seeing you back again.

Having read some of the reviews, it seems that some feel that old is bad and therefore new is good. The Ambassador is certainly an older facility, but is well maintained. We found it to be clean. The hot breakfast is a real breakfast, more than most offer. There is an attached TGIFridays, which is nice. Our room was nice sized. We've stayed in many of the new hotels such as Hyatt Place or Springhill Suites. They are good hotels, but we feel that Ambassador offers a good alternative.

Dated decor - like a 80's time warp. The whole hotel smells like a retirement home - some kind of cleaner or something. It's clean, but not clean in the corners of the rooms. Bathroom really small and very dated. The service is quite good here - the staff was very helpful and professional, they are the best thing about this hotel.

I accompanied my husband on a state-wide York Rite convention for 400 men who stayed in your hotel. We brought our 2 American Eskimo dogs and found that many other wives came with their dogs, too. We stayed on the 1st floor for easy pet walking. Our room was clean, spacious, with an iron and ironing board and with bathrooms with hairdryers and coffee makers. The complimentary buffet breakfast was excellent, and included fresh fruits. (Stephanie coverted our reservation to one that was pet-friendly.) Our only regret is not meeting the GM and her dog, Haylie, to personally thank them for their hospitality! Best regards. Suzanne Natafji
