“Excellent pet friendly hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2014

Most of the hotels that permit pets these days are rather shabby; so, it was a pleasure to find a fresh new property with very nice rooms like the Drury Inn in Amarillo that accepts pets, and I might add at the lowest charge I've known. Everything in the room was in tiptop condition, and the large bath had excellent lighting. We were too late in our arrival for the free wine and snacks, but the breakfast was good. One small negative for our stay was that one of the two elevators was under repair, not a small inconvenience in a six story building with about 150 rooms. We will definitely stay again when in Amarillo.

Even though I shy away from pet-friendly hotels, the hotel and rooms were clean and well-maintained. The free drinks, snacks and breakfast made the stay even more enjoyable and the staff did a great job to take care of us. The customer service during the meals and at the desk during check out/check were fabulous. Plus within walking distance are several good restaurants and within a mile are parks and mall.

Room Tip: Even though I was on the second floor and faced the interstate, I couldn't tell. Not much noise...

Dogs are welcome at the Drury Inn. You get a nice complementary breakfast and an evening snack, and popcorn. That cuts out two meals in your day. The rooms are always nice and clean. I stop there when I'm going to New Mexico or Colorado. They have a business center, a lounging area, and a decent pool.

Hard to find a nice dog friendly hotel in Amarillo. I've stayed other places here and they were average at best. This Amarillo Drury, like all Drury Inns, is a very nice place to stay. One small thing that impresses me- even on a hot afternoon when walking in to our room the air was fresh and pleasant. Most hotels we stay at are stuffy; somehow Drury manages to circulate air through the rooms.

As usual, our stay with Drury was great. The room was spotless, the staff was extremely friendly and courteous. The evening meal and breakfast were very good, hot and tasty. Highly recommend this Drury to anybody.

We were on a 22 day motorcycle trip and had stayed in the Drury Hotel on the Riverwalk in San Antonio Tx earlier. Our stay at both hotels were the best. As we were on a motorcycle trip the weather changed over night and we got snowed in and had to stay an extra night due to weather. The front desk staff at this hotel are first rate and were able to reshuffle the deck and allow 6 of us (3 rooms) to stay an extra night and not have to change rooms. The breakfast is excellent and the evening happy hour is certainly an added bonus that makes this hotel one of the best values on our trip. I would highly recommend it and will stay again if ever out that way again (provided the wind stops blowing).

Room Tip: Make sure not to miss happy hour.

We were travelling on I-40 with three adults and three dogs. We've driven 900 miles and needed a place to say that accepted pets. None of the places we stopped at accepted animals, until one of the front desk hosts said that Drury Inn did. I checked with them, and sure enough they did! Check in was very simple. Gave them my credit card and, I'm not kidding, but we had our room keys in hand and walking back out to the car in under a minute. We gathered all of the dogs and overnight things, walked into the room, and wow! I compare it very close to the Holiday Inn Express, which is a little more expensive. A lot of room, very clean, a great bathroom and shower, and the heating/air conditioning worked great! Free popcorn and soda in the main lobby until 10pm was a plus also. There were several other people with dogs there also, and we didn't hear any barking or noise coming from any of the other rooms all night. If you're driving through on a long, or short, road trip and need a place to lay your head, then this is the great place to do it. Pleasant staff, beautiful rooms and a reasonable price ($119, three adults and three dogs). Highly recommend it!

Room Tip: We checked in about 7pm and got the 4th floor. I would assume the earlier you get there, the better...
