Check-in was fast and easy. Friendly staff offered help and information. They have a really nice gift shop inside called Lizzie Mae's. Something like 3000 square feet of gifts and home items. It’s very nice. The size of the sites is what you would normally encounter. I like that many have a solid wooden fence between each camping site that’s about 3 or 4 foot high. Gravel is the base and some have a cement patio and small grass area. The Wi-Fi was excellent! There are a lot of things for kids as well as adults at Fort Amarillo RV Resort. Indoor, heated pool, gym and hot tub. Kids play area and a central location with a small fishing pond with ducks. We really, really like this RV Park. Why not five stars then? OK, here’s the skinny. This isn’t unique to Fort Amarillo but I call it as I see it. Be it a car, camper or motorhome, slow down. Creates dust and there are pets and kids in the park. As a pet owner this one stings. Dog poop, some old, some newer, not picked up. Our site as well as other locations. Maybe the poop and dust patrol was on vacation. This is a quiet, nice park and we would stay here again if in the area. Feel free to have a look the pictures I submitted of the park. Hope they help.
