“Comfort Inn...very very comfy !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2012

We made an over the country move with our son and got into Amarillo about 730 on a Tuesday night. We walked in and was greeted very friendly by the girl behind the desk. Only 2 rooms were available and we took the suite . It was roomy, very comfortable and loads of room. 2 beds and a pull out couch made all 4 of us very relaxed and enjoyed the good night sleep we so desparatly needed. The bathroom had an extra large tub/shower inside and loved the extra space. This Comfort Inn was on Soncy Rd. on the outskirts of the city. It would of gotten an excellent, but I was a bit disappointed in the breakfest that was provided the next morning.

Room Tip: Dont be afraid to ask for anything extra that you may need.

We stayed here last year in April. We decided to return to it this year on March 12th. It was just as great as last year. Friendly staff, clean rooms, a huge swimming pool-hot tub area also clean and operating. It is so Covenient to get back on I40. The breakfast room could be a little bigger. The food was plentiful and good tasting. If we ever drive west again, we would return again. Also they keep a bowl of candy on the front desk.

On our way back from Mo. to Ca. while on this trip we have stayed at several Comfort Inns and have had great rooms and experiences but this one is old, dated, cig holes in comforter, smoky smelling room bathroom towels are stiff , we heard the hot tub in the room next door through the wall, plus there whole conversation....horrible not up to standards sorry.

We needed a place to stop in Amarillo and this hotel was a good choice. The suite served us well and had functioning refrigerator/freezer and comfortable beds. We could hear the freeway, but not so loud that it kept us awake.
When we called for extra towels, they arrived warm and promptly.
Our only complaints about this hotel was that they started to pack up the breakfast 10 minutes before the time they told us it would close. They were out of hot water (I wanted to make some oatmeal) and they had shut off the juice machine that also supplied the cold water. When I asked the woman cleaning out the food containers if I could have some water, she shook her head and strongly said "NO. Nothing!" and turned away from me. Seriously! Not even water!
The other complaint/comment would be that the woman who was answering the phone the morning of our check out either really hates her job or was so bored that the rest of us didn't matter. We called down twice and each time she barely spoke to us and had the energy of someone watching dust settle.

Overall, I'd recommend the hotel. It was clean, a good location, and the beds were comfortable, but their staff needs some training on how to work in the service industry and be more polite and friendly.

Room Tip: get a suite. Arrive to breakfast at least a half hour before they say it'll be done if you expec...

We were heading West and this hotel is right on the West side of town so getting up in the morning was easy to hit I-40. Plenty of room for trailer parking, right by Red Robin and additional eating places.
Close by mall and shopping.

Very clean hotel and great staff. Will stay again anytime!

This is our hotel of choice when travelling through Amarillo. Have stayed here several times. Very nice accomodations at a reasonable price. Easy access on and off I-40. Good breakfast. But the most memorable thing about this hotel is the huge hot tub with the dolphin on the bottom. Wonderful! This is a very quiet, comfortable, secure place to stay that I will continue to patronize whenever passing through the area.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms are fine since they have a elevator and enough luggage carts.

We stayed here one night while driving across the country and found it to be a very nice motel. The room was clean, roomy, and comfortable. We had a king, handicap accessible room because it was the only king room available when we made reservations. I do not especially like the roll-in showers because the bathroom floor gets wet, but it was large, clean, and had the usual amenities. There were a number of restaurants nearby including On The Border which was very good. The breakfast included the usual choices - cereal, yogurt, fruit, toast, waffles, muffins - plus eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy. My husband said the biscuits and the gravy were cold. Since we were some of the first people to have breakfast, they must not have been heated properly. Other than the cold food, the only complaint we had was not the motels fault. Guests in the room next to or above ours were very noisy until past midnight. A bus full of teenagers had checked in just before us and it sounded like it was probably some of them laughing and talking. Overall it was a nice motel.
