4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

Stayed at this hotel for wedding that we were in town for. The desk clerk when we arrived was very nice and put us on the fourth floor beacuse there was several girls softball teams in town for a tournemant and didn't want us to have kids running up & down the hall and doors slamming. We had a 2 room suite because our daughter had come with my husband and I. The living room was very spacious and had a desk the sofa bed, another chair with an automon mini firdge and microwave. The bedroom was also very large with a king bed a closet that was behind the mirror a bench at the foot of the bed and end tables on each side of the bed. The bathroom was also very large with plenty of counter space. Breakfast all though was busy every morning because of the softbal teams was kept full and clean and no breakfast guard in sight as a couple of other reviews had mentioned. Our daughter said the sofa bed was comfortable but said it was a good thing here husband was unable to come beacuse they would have been snuggling all night. The king bed was very comfortable but I did not have to get a step ladder to get in to it as stated in a review and I am only 5' 3". the bed is a little taller than norma but not exceddingly so. We did not use the Hot tub or swimming pool as the weather was a little chilly even for someone that is from northern Indiana. I would definetly stay at this location again should I ever get to Texas again.

I stayed here on a Feb. weekend for one night. I have stayed here before and love this new hotel. The decor is very modern, fresh, and pretty. This is one of the Nicest LQ's I have stayed in. Our room was an executive King. Very spacious with seating area, sofa, work desk and a large bathroom. The beds are very comfy with more than enough pillows. My only complaint were kids running up and down halls and slamming doors during the late afternoon. There were several soccer tournaments in town, so there was no escaping all those kids. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, never do. When I am out of town, I like to explore new restaurants. This hotel has a great location with shopping and restaurants less than half a mile away. I definately recommend this hotel.

Late at night when we had issues at another hotel (tried to give us a smoking room), we ended up here. We were thankful as there were hardly rooms available. This la Quinta has queen beds... Just what we needed. The room was not large, but clean and updated. Breakfast area was large and breakfast was "typical" good. We would stay here again. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

We stayed here in Jan and the property was clean, staff nice, no complaints on the room, cleanliness, property maintainence or safety. All were excellent and very high when compared to other LQ properties.
Only issue is breakfast. Same issue another guest wrote about except we experienced it! While it also was one of the nicer ones as it had typical LQ offereings PLUS eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, we got there about 850A.....that was a mistake. We asked for orange juice and begrudingly the server....a/k/a "Breakfast Guard"...got 2 glasses for us. Then as we started to serve ourselves, she began picking up the food. I looked at my watch, it was 853A, a full 7 mins to go. We got our breakfast and sat, my wife went up to get a knife and was told there are no more knives. We ate and saw others turned away as well, all before 9A. We had just finished when the Guard came out with a handful of knives and put them in the container for next day's breakfast. She then picked up the coffee and stayed in her kitchen area. Most LQ's have coffee out all the time, but not her! The trays of food she took to the kitchen were still relatively full so wouldn't it be better to let that out a little while longer rather than waste the food?
Other than this, the property is good. We checked out and went to the McKinney LQ property..see my write up there...also as nice a property.
Doubt we'll stay here again as the server was not friendly or helpful at all. While the property is nice, I find being told there are no more knives and not giving a guest a plastic knife when having breakfast only later to see her bring out a handful of them is rude and not the way to treat guests. If you plan on eating breakfast...down there, serve yourself and be finished before 830A..... you'll be in great shape. Otherwise, don't be shocked if you have to substitue forks and knives for spoons and stirrers...or maybe even fingers! Beware of the Breakfast Guard!

See the contrast on service...read the review for the McKinney LQ.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our property. We appreciate the feedback as it gives us direction on areas that need improvement.

We are glad you enjoyed our property but, looks like your breakfast experience wasn't the greatest. We will be addressing this issue and will make sure that this is fix for the next time you are in Allen.

I would like to talk to you a little bit more about this if you would email me at angie@bthospitalitymanagement.com

Take Care!
