I stayed at the Alamo Inn B&B in Alamo Texas for three nights in January 2012. I was in room #5, the South Padre Island Suite Studio. This is an upstairs room on the northeast corner of the building. The exterior doors have cipher locks on them for security. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Amenities included thermostat controlled central air, television, WiFi and a kitchen with a microwave (no cook stove). Bathroom was ensuite with a tub/shower, plenty of hot water and nice towels.
The breakfast is not included in the room rate, and is $5.00 per meal (honor system). This is a cold breakfast consisting of cereal, fruit, boiled eggs, etc. I ate breakfast elsewhere, so I can’t comment on the quality of the food. There is also a supply of sandwich fixings if you want to prepare a boxed lunch.
Staying at Alamo Inn B&B is sort of like staying in your Aunt Martha’s spare bedroom. I recommend it for adult singles or couples. It is certainly nicer and more comfortable than the chain budget motels.
