“This is a nice "older" hotel in the North Dallas area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

I liked this hotel, even though it is not brand new. I usually prefer a less "worn" hotel, but this hotel does a great job overcoming its age. I would definitely stay here again. This hotel acutally has fireplaces in the rooms, with a redi-burn log in there. I used it on a particularly cold Texas night. That is a big plus. The rooms are large and have an "old-school" design which isn't bad, and is something different for all of those, like me, that stay in a lot of Homewoods. The room had a slight smell when I first arrived, mostly like an old hotel smell, but it seemed to disapate as the night wore on, plus the fire helped. The shower was fine and everything was in working order, but they need to add one of those charging stations, because there was a lack of reachable outlets. The wifi seemed to be fine. The rooms on the second floor have no elevator, so choose a first floor room. The staff here is excellent, and the management seems to really be trying to make this hotel a value that travelers cannot pass up. The grounds, by the way, are very pretty, once you are away from the road. The dinner was very good. Stay here and get a good price with great service.

Room Tip: First floor, because there is no elevator

Reserved two 2 bedroom/2 bath suites at this location for myself, another parent, and a group of high school seniors attending college performing arts program auditions nearby at Collin County Community College. The front desk clerk at check in was particularly helpful, asking what we were in town for an volunteering to print maps for us to get to our destination the next day. Our suites were clean, comfortable, and very spacious with a fireplace in each living area. The free breakfast in the morning was substantial and tasty. This was a very good value.

I generally stay at Hilton chains, so the good service and clean atmosphere and great breakfast are par for the course. This hotel was no exception to the general Hilton rule. Rather, it was even MORE than I expected. We stayed here because of the low price, location close to the Galleria and tons of restaurants, the outdoor HEATED pool for the kids and the rave reviews below. We were not disappointed. As other travelers say... Monday through Thursday from 5 to 7 pm there is (basically) a full meal served included in your rate. You can call to see what's on the menu, or when you check in you'll have the menu posted on your refrigerator in your room. The breakfast was also WONDERFUL each morning. The fresh fruit was so good. There were cereals, lots of breads and pastries, at least three hot dishes each morning, fresh juices, good coffees, waffles... anything you could want, and good quality at that. The room (which is always a suite at this hotel) was large with a kitchen, dining area, living room and bathroom. Everything was very clean, of course. Beds were great. Pool was clean and warm for the kids. Hot tub clean. Nobody was out there any night we went swimming. There are lots of business people who stay here, so the "fun stuff" isn't crowded. You can walk to a number of restaurants if you'd like. Dallas Tollway is less than a mile from the hotel, so easy on/off. I just have nothing bad to say about this place. We all loved it.

Room Tip: Based on the pics by other travelers, I think that some rooms are bigger than others even though the...

Over the past weekend, we used the Homewood Suites Addison (Dallas), Texas for our event hotel. It was absolutely wonderful! Many of our guests, who regularly stay at upmarket five star hotels were more than impressed. The hotel far exceeded their expectations.

Heidi Riddles and her team of dedicated staff could not have been more helpful. When I originally discussed the prospect of reserving over forty rooms for this event, Heidi immediately explained our options, which were very attractive. I know this hotel well, staying here regularly on business.

Brian Stratton, the sales coordinator arranged a special web site through the Hilton site, in order for our guests to easily make their reservations at the preferred rate. We needed to make a few changes, which Brian did quickly without any problems. Our guest found this a pleasure. Joyce Oliver, the hotel's director of sales assisted us with some of the extra booking details, where slightly more complicated reservations were required. Joyce's smiling attitude was appreciated.

Heidi offered us the use of the meeting room to be used as a hospitality room. No charge!

Our guests loved the suites. The accommodation was very comfortable and spacious. The head of housekeeping, met our requests with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanks Ofilia. Even the maintenance staff, Gil and Joe got into the act, making sure everyone was happy with the hotel.

Checking in was a breeze. Quick and efficient. The other Brian and Yolanda checked in our guests in his usual friendly efficient manner. Thanks.

Because of some of our special dietary requirements, Heidi arranged to "tweak" the daily menu for the complimentary breakfasts. We loved this. We were able to partake in the meal, which made breakfast into a mini-event every morning. This was truly amazing to our visitors from around the USA and from overseas. In fact, the layout of the hotel's lobby, the breakfast area and the meeting/hospitality room enhanced the social aspect of the weekend.

We used the hospitality room for snacks and drinks provided by some of our friends. There was a constant stream of people into this room, after which they sat in the breakfast area or by the fire in the lobby, socializing with each other. I think that this cordial atmosphere, created by a combination of the hotel layout and the helpfulness of the staff, allowed us to make new friends with some of the visitors we had not met before: Another added benefit.

On returning to the hotel, most of the guests in our party gathered in the lobby area, snacking from the hospitality room, playing cards and Mah Jongg in the breakfast area and generally enjoying themselves. The "graveyard" front desk staff helped with small requests. Andre and Norma could not have been better. This certainly added to the overall enjoyment of the event.

Sunday morning breakfast was a wonderfully friendly meal with people pushing tables together so that they could sit together in large groups.

It was a bit cold to use the outdoor pool and jacuzzi, but this could be an added benefit in summer. Some people did use the mini basketball court.

Talk about a win-win situation. We LOVED this hotel. The rates were excellent. The accommodation was superb. The hotel staff were fantastic. Great job.

We can not express our strongest recommendation in words, for anyone to use this hotel for accommodation when arranging events.

Do it!! You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: We like the large king room with a fireplace. Try not to get a room adjacent to Beltline, it is nois...

This hotel has lovely furnishings, comfortable beds and is easily accessible from main roads. The breakfast was ready on time with few variations from the usual lobby breakfast fare. The staff was very helpful. Only downside was the layout of the shroom with the shower and toilet. It was very cramped and a little difficult to maneuver.

Stayed here for the weekend while attending a fencing tournament. We had 2 rooms. One for us and one for 2 teenagers. The rooms are in separate building, depending on the type of room you stay in (2 double beds, king bed, etc). The rooms were fantastic! Beds comfortable and I liked all the little touches - washcloth and towel folded to look like a shirt with a tie, cookies and water with a note for us to enjoy. The free breakfast was EXCELLENT. The staff was great. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub both nights of our stay. My only complaint - I left my phone charger in our room. When I called the next day, I was told the housekeeper would be calling me back. That was 2 days ago. I still haven't heard back. I would have given the hotel a "5" if they would have just returned the call.

Loved the setting; several buildings with beautiful landscaping in between them. Rooms were clean; bed was comfortable; lots of pillows; updated decor. Fantastic breakfasts and dinners. Just a couple of small problems: when we entered the suite, the smell of potpourri (or some type of air freshener) was overwhelming....I could barely stand it; when I called the front desk, she said it was just the cleaning products that housekeeping uses and offered to send someone to spray the suite with a citrus smelling product; I declined; I didn't want more scent. The smell did wear off pretty quickly; didn't notice it after a few hours. I've stayed at lots of hotels and never known cleaning products to have such a strong, lingering smell. There were people staying on the floor above us, and their floor creaked with every step; other hotels I've stayed in haven't had that problem. On the morning we left, our bill was slipped under the door; when I opened it, a gecko had crawled inside, so I had quite a surprise (the doors open to the outside, not a hallway); guess they should put them in envelopes. Also, there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. Otherwise, a fantastic experience; would stay there again.

Room Tip: there are several buildings; some of the 2nd floor rooms are in buildings with no elevator.
